No recap would be complete without a shout out to our friends over on St Rt 12 :) A 52-19 beatdown at the hands of perennial power Ottawa Hills :bow2: deserves some kind of mention :pickles: Things are getting ugly in Eagle land

1. Ottawa Glandorf (5-0) Titans got tested both nights this weekend and should have lost both.
2. Elida (6-0) Bulldogs win both of their games with ease. Van Buren and Ottoville up next.
3. Versailles (5-0) Had a tough time with New Bremen but escaped.
4. St. Henry (4-0) Marion Local & Ft. Loramie coming up could be two tests.
5. Ottoville (6-0) I think we are all wanting to see how they can do against Elida on Friday.
6. Pandora Gilboa (5-0) PG is putting up some impressive numbers and crack my top 6 of local teams.

Ottoville has 8 of next 11 on road. Tough games Elida (why) at home, DSJ, Crestview, PG and others. Should be tough, but great experience.

Just out of curiousity, what’s been so impressive about the numbers Pandora is putting up?

You don't honestly think Ottoville or PG are better than Lima Senior right? Why not call this "Best Records In The Area" 😀

These are the teams that are doing the best in our area against their schedule. Lima Senior has two losses if you werent aware.

Lima Senior was in my last recap, but then lost two games since then. It's not a matter of who's better than who...it's simply what teams are doing best in our area. PG's closest game has been a 13 point difference.

Thanks baseballer it's nice to be discussing things on here again.

Besides Pandora how bad is the BVC this year?

I think the best teams are the same ones that you have listed above. Overall though there is a bunch of bad basketball teams in this area.

I agree, basketball in our area isnt what it used to be. The BVC is down big time this year.

After Cory Rawson's stunner over LB last Friday, it's safe to say the league is wide open this year. Pandora, North Baltimore, Leipsic, Arlington, Van Buren and Hopewell Louden all are in the mix. As far as any kind of power rankings, I think you do have to look at teams having the best seasons of the teams they play, not that who is the best team in the area. Question, when is the last time LB started a boys basketball season 0-3?

BVC is down for sure this year, but PG is legit. Loaded with seniors who have started since freshmen year. NB talented too but needs to get point guard back from injury to be complete. HL or VB may be next best. What is up with LB? How did they get so bad in one year? I know Masterlasco is gone but 3 points in a half???

OG best in area and best player has not played yet. Ottoville very young. MAC will have a team break out too I am sure

In another topic someone mentioned Ottoville has five seniors including a four year starter. Just curious on how young of a team will be coming to The Vatican Saturday night.

Bobby, I'm not sure where that information came from when he posted that, but Ottoville definitely isn't young at all. They are a top heavy team with seniors and have played together for quite a while, which makes them very effective and dangerous. It will be interesting to see Friday night when they host Elida, who also has a team full of seniors.

I also believe they will be honoring former coach Vic Whiting and those great DSJ football teams from that era which will bring an added challenge to the Big Green

Its really hard to take a thread like this serious before Christmas Break just not enough ball has been played yet. Ottoville has only played one team that has a record of .500 or better.

Ottoville has 5 seniors, 1 junior, 3 sophomores, & 2 frosh on the V roster. The two frosh are 6-6 and 6-3, they are pretty good. Three 10th graders & 11 frosh on JV. As far as chances vs. Elida and DSJ, & DJ this week. I do not know if they can beat them, maybe DJ? They play at the Stage, Vatican, and Elida at the Heck. Girls play OG at the Heck. Great week of BB for Ottoville fans. Wish I could be there. Merry Christmas all, and especially to Flounder, where are you?
