Where’s your favorite tournament site and why? I have always enjoyed The Elida Fieldhouse and The Grand Canyon in Napoleon. Both places roar when they get filled up for big District Tourney games.

The old Lima Senior gym on a Saturday afternoon with sunlight streaming in from the windows.

Elida and Napoleon are great. It may be Defiance's new gym in the future - very fan friendly seating over 2,500. ONU is definitely the worst.

Agree 100%....Ohio Northern's gym is awful and they need to move that somewhere else. Nobody enjoys going and watching a game there.

The Stroh Center for Regionals. Having to walk up the stairs and look out across the arena takes your breath away that you've really made it.

^^^anderson arena

Hope to see Bluffton University host some sectionals, love the new gym, and shouldnt be compared to Bluffton HS who for some reason hosts (or at least used to)

Id have to say Vandalia was a nice venue to go watch a tournament game. Van Werts old gym and Elida were and are just classics as well with great atmosphere.

But I gotta say, did I hear right that Miller City is hosting a boys division 3 sectional? If so, 😮

I’ve always like Minsters gym. They should host tournament games there if not already

The problem with Minster's gym - as with many new gyms - is that the first row of bleachers is so far from the floor. Three-court gyms are nice for the extra practice area they provide, but they can definitely inhibit an intimate atmosphere.

As long as it has enough room to hold the OG fans it will be fine....it's not like any of the other teams playing there will need the room. That being said...I'm kind of surprised OG chose to play in Miller City over the Fieldhouse at Elida, though again, for this sectional I think MC will have plenty of seating

That never bothered me to be honest I didn’t even pay attention to that detail. I just thought the seating is so expanded that your not literally up someone’s back and it has plenty of seats plus just a nice venue all together.

Well I’m sure other people besides OG fans will go. I’m still shocked that Miller City is hosting a sectional. Idk it’s just mind boggling to me for some reason.

You know they have a new gym right? It's not horrible for a sectional. I'm sure that Mac & Rita's won't mind the influx of people after the games :)

That gym is horrible. Visiting fans can only enter in one door. If you try the other door you have to walk across the end of the floor. Terrible setup.

I’m aware they have a new gym and have been there before. It just surprises me they would host a division 3 boys sectional there. I could maybe see a division 4 girls but oh well

I gotta agree. New gym or not (I’ve been there), can’t believe MC is hosting. I’m sure they’re excited and maybe they’ll do a good job? I wonder if all the tourney workers there will wear Miller City hats? Doesn’t every guy from MC wear an MC hat? Hell, maybe even some of the ladies over there do lol!

The decision to play at Miller city was only based on one thing..... their sectional game will be at 6 o'clock and their first district game will be at 6 o'clock. OG's coach is always thinking ahead when it comes to accommodating the bars and fans before and after the games......zoooom

Hey guys,

You guys miss me yet. My favorite venues are St John’s Arena, Anderson Arena which was Rocketman’s home court during his college years, always like the old VW gym for sectionals and the Elida Fieldhouse was special. Least favorite to watch a tourney game—ONU is absolutely pathetic.
