Just a reminder as we do every year; please be sure to make separate topics for baseball & softball finals to lesson confusion.....I haven't been around here recently to see if this has been an issue or not, but, just putting out the reminder.

Thanks everyone & best wishes to all teams this season!! clap.gif pickles.gif

Some of us rallied for that before for a couple years in a row, rwb......but, it fell on deaf ears & was argued pretty evenly by those for and against the change......

Some of us wanted to have separate topics for the obvious reason ...... Those against, wanted to have the ppl just 'label' their topics 'baseball' or 'softball' in the headers rather than having to visit a separate forum--which would be great, IF everyone remembered to follow those guidelines......but, over the years of monitoring these topics, I find that a lot of times, in our busy lives, we can forget small, simple steps like that & it can result in a lot of confusion; especially when a lot of schools' bsball & sftball games are played on the same nights. Another reason was baseball & softball traffic wasn't very high then.... It's definately higher now than it was back then..... Is it enough to warrant it now? I don't know.......

I'll contact RM & see if this is a possibility now or not.

lol.....sorry, rwb!!! as you can tell, i don't get over this way too much.... (the reason i think we need a more diverse team of moderators!)

Slice, I am a big softball fan of NW Ohio. I umpire out here, but the ball is NOT that good. Palm Desert, Indio, Palm Springs, and LaQuinta (the best) are good, but that is it out here. I know Crestview and Bath are very good. My Big Green just field a team and struggle, but at least they have a team, more than a couple other PCL schools.

It's NW Ohio? The weather doesn't break until May, of course it's better in California. Weather not the complete reason though.
1. Time of "school" year - I've always felt the spring sports have very little importance by the schools and the OHSAA. The fall seasons are typically 2-3 months, winter is 3-4 months, and the spring sports (baseball, softball and track) are rammed into about 6 weeks. Educators are so quick to wrap the school year up by May 31 that for most programs, they done by early/ mid May. Add to that the poor weather and it's literally games everyday from April 1 to May 10, except for Sundays.
2. Other sports - The ramping up of club volleyball/ aau basketball has crippled spring sports. Baseball and softball suffer as track is more of an individual sport, meets are spaced out and the commitment level is across the board. Most kids played baseball and softball as youngsters, but they just gradually drift away as other sport demands take over. it's really too bad.

Are any of you fine folks interested in BB & SB? I would appreciate any scores that are posted. I like to follow all sports in the tri-county area. Thanks
