Let's get the conversation rolling...... Last year Arlington started off the season 5-0 while destroying five weaker teams by and avg score of 58-5. They rolled into week 6 and week 7 against opponents of similar talent (McComb and Liberty Center) and they lost those games.

This year they have started off 5-0 vs. five teams with a combined record of 7-18. The avg score of those games was Arlington 43 and Opponents 10. Will history repeat itself and Arlington fall to Liberty-Benton in week 6, or is this the year they knock off LB?

Well, this is the best chance Arlington has had in many years, primarily b/c of improved QB play and finally we just might have better skilled players than LB or at minimum very equal. Typically, LB has the faster athletes, better QB and overall more depth. I would say this year it is much more even or even tilted to Arlington's favor. I said in the beginning and will say it again though - until we beat LB and McComb we are still a 3rd place team in the BVC. Time to reverse that trend. Two very good RB's this week to watch in Combs and Rettig. One thing for sure, I will be playing the 50/50 this week....

What would this thread look like if LB was the one that got a Sr. move in QB as good as Arlington's new one?

To answer your question...it would look like all the other L-B threads...that's because you gotta call it like it is. If Arlington had the history of move-ins that L-B has had, then it would look just like the typical complaints we read on L-B threads. Give them some time to perfect this practice...then we will see more complaints.

Very little talk regarding this week 6 showdown in Atown. In looking at the stats they look to be fairly evenly matched. I think this game will be won in the trenches. Does anyone know if there will be a presale?

Trying to rationalize my pick, haven't seen all LBs games and none of Arlington's yet....(JUST MY OPINIONS)
Opponents played so far-LB
Location favors- Arl
History of match up -LB
Personnel - Push
Fire-Desire in Players to beat monkey off back - Arl (just a guess)
Coaching -LB

Going to be a good game, my vote goes Liberty in tight one.

This was a very good game last season, and I'd say LB lost a little more to graduation than Atown, and the Red Devils picked up a transfer in the process, I think Arlington gets the Eagles this year.

From the transfer standpoint, it's 2014. Kids are moving around today more than ever. It's just part of things today. Makes you get a program each year to see who's who! Kids go to other schools because they want a better opportunity (they think) or they didn't get along with the kids from their old school (happens all the time). Parents now are more than willing to drive their kids to school everyday, so it happens.

Agreed, this one will be a great game. At this point I don't think this game will come down to the numbers from previous games or opponents each school has played (I know risky statement).... These schools love to compete against one another and both will bring their "A" games for this one. We can compare stats all day and difficulty of schedule, etc. but when the whistle blows on Friday night all of that will go out the window. Looking forward to a good one.

This game will be huge from an attendance standpoint - the weather is supposed to be beautiful and stay in hi 60's, lo 70's with some rain in the morning only. The table is set, and there are no excuses for Arlington this year. I think this team is built to win and win this year - key players return on the O-line, tremendous size on both sides of ball, much better speed than in years past, and finally the skill player at QB that can win a game a game for us. I can't wait to see it and hope for a RED DEVILS VICTORY!!!

Not that I have heard of yet. They really need to since the Arlington Elementary will be having their fall fest on Friday. If the weather is good, they'll hold it on the track, so the south gates to the field will be closed for those attending the game. It also means parking will be worse than normal.
