As this game is concerned, I think it ought to be a good game to take in. a very good team, that happens to have a lot of ties to the O-G program in it's coaches, that is having a great year playing a young developing squad. should be fun to watch with the way both seasons have gone for these squads.

I am surprised though on some questions and comments to O-G program, and the crowds? When. I played we looked forward to playing good teams, regardless of size, and let's face it, in the "county" there is some great basketball. I don't get comments from some on why O-G schedules down? Then the calling out of the fans and complaints of the demographics? Seems to me you ought to be celebrating the program ? How many schools, not only locally, but throughout the state can claim the tradition the Titans enjoy?
I know when I played we looked forward to playing "county" squads because then we played in the off season with these guys, and looked forward to playing them.
When I played, and yes it was more than a few years ago I recall a season when the only win the titans got was against a grove squad that was a very good team? How many seasons have the titans had since 1977 that were losing seasons? I guess my comment is this

Why aren't more of the complainers doing somethiing to support the program instead of just complaining?

Agreed a game against 1 or 2 county teams a year is fun for everyone involved because Putnam County is unique it seems like everyone knows everyone, especially between these two who are separated by about 6 or 7 miles.

As for the game I think OG will win by about 6 52-46 but should be a fun one to watch.

There is just no way the titans lose tonight. There is too much pride on the line and the kids know it, as does Coach Ty. These kids will play with passion tonight and will find a way to win. This being said, where will each team seed after whatever the out come is tonight?

If the Titans win tonight, they will tie with Tinora record wise at the Defiance sectional with a 12-5 record. With 4 out of the 6 teams in the same conference [ie Green MeadowsConference} I just don't know how those teams will vote on the top seeds. Will they shun O-G to vote for Tinora No 1 remains to be seen. If they go by competition O-G has it hands down with the tough schedule they play compared to the Rams. As far as Leipsic goes they more then likely either way with a win or a lose will end up with a No 2 seed in Ottawa. Just my guess.

After what Grove did to the Titans I wouldn't say there is no way they lose tonight. I still think OG is favored but Leipsic could potentially win this one.

I just think OG has more to lose. Besides, Grove destroyed Leipsic even worse and this one is at ottawa, OG gets it done.

after a 2/16 night from 3 pt range last night vs. St. Marys
a 0/21 performance (or should I say lack of?)
and many other 3/14-like nights this season.........

here is what I would do if I was the OG coach.........
the first player to throw up a trey tonight vs. Leipsic finds himself a seat next to the elder Mac
the second player who thinks he can bury the "3" finds himself seated next to Bachelor #1....
the third player who tries to throw it in the ocean finds himself headed for the showers instead (I mean, you think they'd learn right?)
and if there would be any other player foolish enough to think "3"..........well..........

now if I was Leipsic's coach I would pack that zone in so tight you'd a thought the post players for OG had a tourniquet around their arms.....
I would double dawg dare the Titans to beat me from the outside..........they haven't done it to a team all year, what you're thinkin' karma?
and the Leipsic guards have to be able to penetrate the paint to some degree tonight.............they have to get some easy baskets..........

thoughts??

Yeah not much of a game as I expected. OG knew what was on the line and came to play.

What was on the line? Yea OG came to play, and they kicked our butts tonight. I didn't see anything wrong with their 3 pt shooting, looked fine to me. Pretty good inside game too.
The Vikes had a rough weekend on the road! For whatever reason, we don't shoot as well away from home. probably few teams do. Congratulations to the Titans. I thought they looked very good. Good Luck to them on the rest of their season.

I'd tell them to keep yackin it up. I'd rather have a team not worry or think about shot attempts and rather move the ball for open looks and take them.

Leipsic has a very good team, but tonight OG had one the better shooting nights of the season. OG looked focused from the beginning and the Titans biggest advantage was on the boards. Leipsic is a big man away from being dominant................love the vikings style of play and hope to follow them far into the tournament.

OG has 3 tough games ahead, @ Bath, @ perrysburg next weekend before finishing at home with Van Wert.

With the exception of the Celina game this was the best game overall played by the Titans this season. The Vikings are a good team and I think they could make a extended run in the tournament. On a side note I thought the three referees that were assigned to this game were outstanding. They did an outstanding job in my book, didn't even know that they were on the floor. Just and entertaining game between two schools who should play each other well into the forseeable future.

Yea OG shot 50% from the floor. Guess they were a little more relaxed, but ready to play than the Vikings. Good game played between both teams. The Vikings need to learn how to rebound with their lack of heeight. OG was the better team last night. The Vikings have nothong to hang their heads about. Learn from this and Good Luck to both of the teams in tournament.

DItto on the refs. They did a great job. They showed what referees should strive for. Some referees seem to think that they are the entertainment not the game.
