Bad look for a coach to criticize officials.....even worse to pull the race card.

Great sportsmanship. You only won by 40. They should check the eligibility of his team. Weren't them or the boys suspended a few short years ago for some illegal recruiting?

Only a one game suspension is absurd. Would love for the school to step in and do more, but you know that won't happen.

Love the comment at the end. Most coaches don't complain unless they are a losing coach. In my mind, he is a losing coach! Not always about wins and losses.

The interim coach had no comment about anything after they won the Regional on Saturday. I guess he had to go and spend time with potentional new players from the 1,000,000 population greater Columbus area. They think the officiating isn't fair. What really isn't fair? By the way, the head coach should have been dismissed immediately by his AD, Superintendant, or Board.

The school Admin has no guts to do anything to the coach. They're winning and have a chance to win the state again. Is he a teacher there, or a walk-on? I am betting he is an AAU coach.

They won the regional final by 29, so I don't think it has anything to do with coaching. I'd like to see the school step up and do the right thing and relive this guy of his duty. Talk about bad publicity for the school. Since it's not a public school, they may not even have to "suspend him with pay" like the unionized public schools have to do.

As part of Columbus City Schools, technically Africentric is a public school.......but you have to meet certain criteria and be "selected" to go there.

What's a joke was Africentric girls being in division 4 at one time. Still bitter about that because I think Ottoville and Crestview both could have won state if not for Africentric. Coach has no business doing what he did when I've seen them get away with plenty of calls down in state.
No object is mysterious. The mystery is your eye.

They should be in D1. That is my biggest issue with the current classification system. It is based totally on enrollment only. It needs to take into consideration the population area their players are drawn from.

The OHSAA is also spineless when it comes to schools like this. It's embarrassing they allow what amounts to AAU teams to participate in the same tournament that home-grown teams, especially in the lower divisions. How many D3-4 schools have been burnt over the past 10-15 years (boys & girls)...Ottoville, Crestview, Leipsic, Lincolnview, Continental (Africentric forfeited their title that year), Patrick Henry, I'm sure I've missed a couple

Agreed! Sucks. I know Crestview lost two close games to Africentric at state 2 years in a row...! the whole program is dirty. I don't care what anyone says. i could almost guarantee if the OHSAA looked at the eligibility of their players each year...they'd be in trouble about 90% of the time.

What makes you say the OHSAA doesn't look at their eligibility? You think the OHSAA LIKES the zero fan base schools heading to state every year? I was told by a very reliable source that the Hathaway Brown school sold TEN pre-sale tickets to their lady's semi-final matchup with Miami Trace, who brought the whole damn town. The OHSAA was silently pulling for an OG/MT match up b/c it would have been $thousands more. Meanwhile, a matchup between two private schools with little to no traveling, with the stands filled with your casual observer. The OHSAA doesn't like it, so I guaran-damn-tee they make each one dot their I's and cross their T's.

I agree with this post! I feel like the state would almost have a fix in AGAINST private schools with no fan base. But somehow, it seems like those teams are always the ones that squeak by in the State Tournament
