Huge news for Tiger fans......Unfortunately Tigers tickets and Little Ceasars' pizza just got more expensive!

I'm in shock. Apparently Mr. I wasn't lying when he said he really wants to win a World Series before he dies...........

and the Reds fans say thank your for taking him out of the NL central. no fielder or pujos, somebody pinch me. then if braun doesn't win his appeal this starts to look even better for the reds to win the central with their recent additions.

I was totally shocked when I heard this on the radio driving home from work.............so where does this put Cabrea? Being a Tiger fan I have mixed emotions on this signing. The money paid out to have two 1st basemen, put the Tigers close to Yankee payroll status and I am not sure if it was a good move or not. Am I glad to see Cecil's son on the Tiger roster..hell yea...was it a smart move....to be determined......Sure wish I could hear Bandido's opinion on this signing....

All the talk is Cabrera to 3rd. He actually wasn't terrible there....but that was 4 years ago. I do think the potential reward outweighs the risk though....those 2 bats and then in 2013 with a healthy VMart could be amazing...if the defense is good enough for it to matter. It'll be fun to watch though.

I like the Reds as well, 2nd favorite team. So this is a double win for me...I'd love to see a Detroit-Cincinnati World Series at some point. But I'm getting way too ahead of myself on that.

Miggy says he will move back to 3rd. Both dudes say hell no do not make us the DH. I guess it depends on how well Miggy is in shape come next month.

If Cabrera can make the move back to 3b successfully, that makes a great offensive lineup!

On a related topic, what is the status of Brandon Inge?

Before this move he was going to platoon with Don Kelly at 3rd. Now, who knows. Hopefully released.

Brandon Inge for DH? :wallbash: Doubt it. Look for Delmon Young to DH and Ryan Raburn and Andy Dirks to share LF.

Inge is the odd man out. If the Tigers are willing to eat most, or all of his contract, he would be wearing a new uniform. He has very little trade value. The only thing that keeps him on this team is the fact Victor Martinez is likely out for the season and they don't need that roster spot.

I'd love to see him go back to the super sub role that he had back in like 04....it's about the only thing he's actually good for.

I honestly forgot all about Dirks.....but he's a good option out in left. Raburn and Santiago will share 2nd, but I can definitely see Dirks playing left the days that Raburn is at 2nd. Or they could just decide that the offense is good enough and let the superior defender play 2nd ever day. I'd love to see what Santiago could do with consistent playing time....he's got some pop in his bat, I could see double digit homers, great defense, and a good enough batting average out of the 9 hole to not completely kill the rest of them.

Being Cubs fan and I would rather see the Reds win the division then the Cardinals. BUT, Cardinals will still be pretty good. Wainwrigjt was out the entire year last year and I Wainright and Carpenter is a pretty good 1-2.

I think Prince will DH some, Cabrera will DH some and Inge will be a late inning defensive substittion in a lot of games.

A report today stated that the Tiger's spring training tickets were selling five times their normal rate in the last two days. I'm sure their regular season ticket sales are up too.

I have this feeling that along with Prince and Miggy part time at DH, Delmon Young will be there a lot.

Anything they can do to get him out of playing defense would benefit the team.

It all started with the divorce of Cecil and his wife....and then Cecil gambled a bunch of money away. And then he thought he was entitled to some of Prince's salary when he got to the majors for "assisting" him in getting where he was.

It's just a really messy thing. But the fact that Prince actually was willing to come to Detroit where he'll be bombarded daily by questions tells me one of 2 things. Either the money was too much to pass up, or he's willing to eventually give his dad another chance. I sure hope it's the 2nd.

Cabrera at 3rd resulted in Inge being returned to third once already and Miggy was smaller then.
Can't have defensive holes at both corners and expect to win a world series.

Inge will have to at least be a late inning defensive sub for him if not outright returned to starting at third while Miggy cleans house at DH.

If Delmon is going to DH why would Raburn be in the outfield over Inge?
He isn't much better than Inge at the plate and his glove is an embarrassment to major league baseball. If there is an odd man out it should be Raburn.
Fielder at first, Cabrera at third and Raburn at second would be the worst defensive infield in baseball but two of them are great at the plate.
