Tim recently ran at the Sea Ray Relays at the University of Tennessee, winning the 400 meter hurdles in a time of 52.50. His time ranks him among the national leaders in NCAA Div. II in this event. Tim also competes in the 110 hurdles with a best time this season of 14.54, which also ranks well in the nation. Not to be left out,... the 4 x 400 relay consisting of Tim, John Guagenti, Curtis Smithey, and Dillon Webster, running in the premier heat of the Sea Ray relays, placing 6th against the DI schools in that event, in a time of 3:13.96. Tim's goal for the season is to make it to the national meet in all 3 events, which as it stands today, could be a huge reality. Tim has 5 meets left on the outdoor schedule to improve and make that goal a reality.

Side note: Tim was the GLIAC champion in the 60 meter hurdles this past season, and his time of 8.05 in that event placed him as the 15th best hurdler in that event in the nation. HIs 4 x 400 relay ran at the DII Indoor national meet, placing 6th and garnering those young men All American status.

This was an update for those who have been asking how Tim has been running at the college level. Tim is currently a junior on the University of Findlay track team.

The University of Findlay has several athletes that are competing at the DI level, which has amazed me. If you are a track and field minded person, you will understand these times and distances of Findlay athletes and how they relate to DI schools:

Cory Vales High Jump 7' 1 1/2"
Derrick Vicars Shot Put 62' 10"
Discus 181' 7"
Hammer Throw 200 plus feet
Shayne Shockey Pole Vault 17'3"
Cody Crocket Javelin 204'11"
Glen Forsythe Triple Jump 48'0"
John Guagenti 400 Meters 47.01 (46.87 in HS)
Curtis Smithey 400 Meters 47.41
Tim Sanders 110 Hurdles 14.54
400 Hurdles 52.50
4 x 400 relay 3:13.96 (3:13.41 indoor season best)

And on the womens side. Raven Clay 100 hurdles 13.25....holy cow....Indoor national champion in the 60 meter hurdles

*** See what I mean....wow
