Exactly my thoughts with the WBL, except it has an earned reputation of being competitive on a state wide level. It's been no secret around here the last few years that I personally would LOVE if Defiance had a potential league closer to home to be a part of, because those weeknight trips to Kenton and Celina are killers, but considering that could never happen without breaking apart the WBL to find schools to add to Napoleon, Bryan, and Wauseon, I'm happy. League's been the same since 1982 and shows no sign of wanting to expand. I kind of wish we could play Bryan in football, but I feel like we've developed a few nice rivalries inside the league and I hope it never changes.
The only way I can see these 12+ team leagues actually working long term is if there's a clear big/small split. Otherwise, it's just too big and I honestly feel like not having a true champion cheapens things.

Up until Montpelier jumped to the TAAC/BBC I always thought a 10 team GMC with Paulding and Montpelier being added would work. Geographically and competitively, Paulding fits. It's a little big, but not so much so that it would be a huge outlier. And in terms of computer points, it's not like they're getting many in the NWC as is.
With Antwerp and Holgate's numbers problems I'm really surprised the GMC HASN'T looked at them again. I know Paulding has shown interest in the recent past, but the GMC at the time was happy with their 8(and didn't want Edon). I think Holgate in the TAAC for football and BBC for other sports with Paulding in the GMC would honestly probably be the best case for all involved.

Crestview and WT would be epic in the NWC.

WT is poised for an epic collapse in hoops and football very soon. Basketball will be good this year and decent next year (Ethan)....beyond that, buckle up. Football is done imo.

I've read now in two different places that Napoleon is leaving their league effective 2017??

The loser this time around could be the NOL (similar to the MAL the last time around). The MOAC Red could be in a similar position. Elgin could be left out of MOAC Blue reshuffling.
If Napoleon is truly leaving for the NWOAL it would cause some shuffling up that way that affects maybe up to four leagues.

1. Hopewell-Loudon leaving the BVC to join a new league is a bad decision. New leagues rarely last long now a days, plus the BVC is the perfect fit for them since the conference has now established itself as a respectable league. No longer the Barely Varsity Confernce.
2. Montpelier to the GMC is never going to happen. They bring nothing to the table for the GMC. They don't bring gates and all thier sports are struggling.
3. Paulding to the GMC would work, only if they replace one school...either Holgate or Wayne Trace (if they left for the NWC).
4. NWC - add Wayne Trace and Liberty- Benton ( always thought LB would be a good fit). If LB stays in BVC, then NWC could get Parkway.
5. If the WBL would go to 12 teams...add Sidney in the south and Delphos to the north. Yes, Delphos, assuming they ever combine both St. John's and Jefferson together. If this did happen, they would be too big for the NWC and they are right in the middle of WBL country.
That is my two cents.
