I would like to see DSJ upset Crestview. Probably Wayne Trace vs. Crestview (both playing very well)

This district semi had a lot of potential, but ended up being sort of a snoozer as Crestview and Kalida led throughout and DSJ and Wayne Trace never really threatened.

Crestview won game 1 53-34

Kalida won game 2 54-39

Kalida- Crestview play Friday night at 7:00 for a trip to regionals at BG.

Should be a close game on Friday.
Crestview and Kalida.

Crestview beat Kalida in January by 14. However, everyone seems to think Kalida can beat Crestview. maybe so. Who knows.

Kalida was down a starter the first time the 2 teams met........CAN the wildcats beat the knights? yes..........will they? I would say probably not, Crestview was the favorite to move on from this district for a reason. Should be a good matchup, though.

I was not surprised how the DSJ v CV game turned out after being at the LCC game. LCC choked and should've been playing last night.

The Kalida v WT game played out very similar to the regular season game. The way WT finished out the season I thought it would have been a closer game.

Friday's should be a good game. Kalida kept the regular season matchup close till they missed 4 or 5 shots in a row with about 6 minutes to go in the game. They did that on the road without one of their starting seniors. Kalida's height across their starting 5 and core of seniors maybe the hardest matchup Crestview will have before the state tournament. It's to bad this game isn't being played next week at BGSU.

Another prime example to foul the other team when up by 3 and force them to shoot free throws.

The refs don't call fouls in the district finals. Watch the Grove-Arlington game for a good example of this.

Two years in a row where the other team (Hicksville & Kalida) let Crestview - same player - shoot a 3 in the last seconds. Has anyone ever heard of a time when fouling in that situation didn't work. They talk about scenarios that can go wrong, but I have never witnessed it not working.

Exactly. I just dont get it. Theres been a few times this year that coaches dont foul and allowed the other team to shoot a game tying 3. I really would like to hear coaches like kalida reasoning for not doing it. I don't wanna hear it depends or its risky. Risky is allowing the other team to take a shot that could tie it. Putting them at the line where they have to have literally 4 things to happen: make the first free throw. Miss the second. Get the rebound. Make the shot. Too many things you need to happen compared to a game tying 3 even from half court.

Mysterio, is this also refering to the Ottoville/Crestview tournament game last year?

That game, I know the year Arlington girls went to state they hit a game tying 3 against Holgate. I believe it's also happened in some boys games this year too. Not to mention in a ton of college basketball games I've seen. I just dont get it.

Same exact scenario in the OG - LB girls game....and OG even had a foul to give. Let LB inbound, didn't get a foul and they hit a 3 to send it to the third OT and LB ended up winning. No need to even let them inbound it....just foul before the play even starts and LB is shooting 2 with 3.5 seconds left

Yes that's the game i was talking about to someone the other day and then we get another scenario last night. At some point those coaches will get smart and realize the math of it.

Yeah, I don't get it either why you don't foul up three late in the game. Worst case scenario Crestview makes 2 foul shots to go down one and Kalida is inbounding the ball with about :04 left. Not to mention the guy who brought the ball up the floor for crestview is about a 50% foul shooter, so no guarantee he even makes the first one. Not to mention Crestview was out of timeouts.

I think a similar situation took place with Kalida down at state about 10 years ago when the wildcats lost in the finals to Oak Hill

Is that so? Wow. That's just bad coaching. And they are not the only team that doesnt do it. Look Kalida has a good coach but idk how you aren't aware that your team is up 3 and the other team has a 50% free throw shooter out there. Even if the guy is a 90% shooter, still foul. Kalida may not have had any timeouts left but you gotta be prepared.
