Man, I just realized I never even saw any scores this past weekend until tonight as I went to do this. That's how bad things are.

(5-2) Elida at Shawnee (3-4)
(3-4) O-G at Kenton (3-4)
(4-3) Wapak at Defiance (1-6)
(6-1) St. Marys at Celina (5-2)
(1-6) Bath at Van Wert (3-4)

Last week was pretty easy, six people got 3 right, four people got 4 right, and Maltese Falcon was the lone perfect. No one had a losing record, and the consensus went 4-1. St. Marys over Bath and O-G over Defiance were the unsurprising unanimous picks, while Celina (the only upset, against Wapak) and Van Wert (against Elida) each got a lone selection, the only close game was Kenton over Shawnee, 6-5. Maltese Falcon's perfect week allows him to move into a 3-way tie for 1st place.

1. Shawnee (Elida struggles against anyone with a quick ground game, and Shawnee's QB will show his athleticism and prove to be the difference)
2. Kenton (Toughest game to pick. OG has a great defense, but can their offense put up enough points to come out on top?)
3. Wapak (They needed this game after a loss to Celina. Still looking up at other playoff teams)
4. St. Mary's (50/50 drawing will be huge and rightfully so. I don't think Celina can pull off back-to-back wins against two top teams in the league)
5. Van Wert (Cougars will bounce back after close loss to Elida and move back to .500)

This is the breaking point in the season in the WBL as far as playoffs are concerned. Right now it looks like St. Marys is the only team locked into a playoff spot, but the roughriders finish with Celina, Defiance and Wapak. 2 tough games with any easy one in between. It is going to be tough for any division 3 school to get in, though I think one team will. OG, the only D5 school in the league is also still alive at 3-4.

(5-2) Elida at Shawnee (3-4)- Shawnee has had a nice bounce back year, but have virtually no chance of making the playoffs even if the tribe runs the table (unlikely w/ Elida and Celina left on the schedule.) Elida also need to run the table to get in and should be favored in the rest of their games, if the bulldogs trip up against Shawnee, Kenton or OG and end 7-3 they will be OUT.
(3-4) O-G at Kenton (3-4)- Both teams need to win out to have a chance to get in the playoffs, so one will be pretty much eliminated after Friday. While winning out for either team is improbable it is not out of the realm of possibility. OG has a better chance of getting in at 6-4 than Kenton, though, as at 6-4 the wildcats will need lots of help.
(4-3) Wapak at Defiance (1-6)- easy pick, Wapak needs to beat both OG and St. Marys the last 2 weeks to get in.
(6-1) St. Marys at Celina (5-2)- Celina might have the toughest 3 game finish in the league as the green dogs host SM, and travel to Van Wert and Shawnee. Celina can afford one loss and still get in.
(1-6) Bath at Van Wert (3-4)- Van Wert has a chance to finish strong with Bath and Defiance with Celina sandwiched in between. Not many points out there for the Cougars, so they can start their re-building plan for the next time they have a good team in about 6-7 years and they can go .500 again.

When it is all said and done, many teams have to win out to get in and this year has proven no team is consistent enough to do so. In the end I think St. Marys and Celina get in, with Elida at less then a 50/50 chance.

Elida - tough pick here but Shawnee has only won one of its last 5 games.
O-G - Titans have played well the last couple weeks, and has a better defense than Kenton. Maybe O-G is getting some things figured out.
Wapak - no brainer.
St. Marys - wow, game of the year maybe. I just think St. Marys is the best team this year.
Van Wert - Cougars get a respite and will break a streak of losing 3 straight games by exact 35-27 scores.
