This looks to be a competitive sectional, and the draw will be interesting. Does anyone know when tournament drawing/ seeding takes place?

Antwerp, Ayersville, Continental, Edgerton, Holgate, Kalida and Miller City

Who is seeded @Paulding

Edgerton 11-0 Holgate/Edon

Holgate 8-5 Edgerton. MC next

Kalida 7-4 Leipsic/Van Wert next

Miller City 9-5 Holgate/FJ this weekend

do both MC and Holgate control the 2nd seed? leaving Kalida out?

Kalida's out of conf. schedule is the toughest, especially the early part of it. It ends with some softer competition.........but that won't help them much at the tournament draw.

I say that there is a good chance that Kalida does not get a seed......only 3 putnam county teams voting, and we all know how political these draws are!!!!!!

Solid sectional...Ayersvilles the only "bad" team in the bunch but they just picked up their first W against a decent Paulding team.

Kalidas 4 losses are by a combined 15 pts, Holgates 4 losses by a combined 11.
MC has been one of the surprise teams in the area in my opinion, rebounding from a slow start.
Continentals record leaves much to be desired but the couple times I saw them in action, they played hard but struggled to finish around the rim...if they can start connecting, look out.
Edgerton is the obvious #1 right now, but even they have squeaked out a couple league wins...one being against Antwerp...will teams really be afraid to play them??
MC has Holgate & Kalida prior to the draw, those two games will have serious impact on who is seeded where

Who is in the Ottawa sectional this year?? BVC schools replacing the usual suspects??

Who cares about seeds? If they need to worry about getting out of that sectional, it doesn't really matter.

If Edgerton is not 1 and Kalida 2 then there is definite politics at work

Bringing this back up since we are drawing near, Sun. is the day the teams will hash this out. Many scenarios could play out with this weekend's games determining seeding.

Edgerton 15-0 ; Miller city 11-6 (loss to Holgate); Kalida 10-5; and Holgate

11-6...........

The MC- Kalida game could have the #2 seed riding on it.

Does Ayersville, Edgerton, Holgate ,Antwerp in the same sectional from the GMC favor Holgate ?

I'm thinking Ayersville and Continental will probably be competing against each other to face Edgerton. So Holgate could have to potentially contend with Miller City, Kalida, and Antwerp. I dont know how close the MC game was but Holgate's game against Antwerp came down to a buzzer beater for the win. Miller City and Kalida are tough too so I don't think they really have any sort of advantage

Holgate beat MC pretty good at MC which they have not done in pry 6 years. MC had no answer for Ryan Aelker I think that it was around a 10 pt victory. I think that if Wayne has the choice he would rather play Edgerton in Napoleon than in Paulding assuming that Holgate can get out of sectionals.

I am not so sure it is as cut and dry as the two bottom teams will fight it out to play Edgerton. If you are the 4 seed you have to decide if you want potentially one tough game or two tough games to get to districts. The MC Kalida game will have a big impact on this seeding.

The two seed really means nothing in a 7 team draw unless the 1 passes. Having the third or the 4th seed with a choice may be more appealing to some coaches.

I agree with ya here. I was more or less trying to point out that while none of these teams besides Edgerton are outstanding, they're all solid and its probably gonna be a hell of a fight to get to Napoleon

The two teams to come out of this sectional will be playing for a regional birth at BG because the Bryan sectional is very week all BBC teams and Montpieler. Fayette is the only team that could handle the Paulding sectional teams maybe Pettisville.

Edgerton #1, Kalida #2...my people tell me Holgate was the #3 & chose to go to the upper bracket for another shot at Edgerton....and avoiding having to possibly face MC & Kalida to get out

Seems like it's as simple as Holgate would rather play Edgerton than Kalida. Holgate's coach was in attendance at the Kalida/Van Wert game. Perhaps he didn't like what he saw. Match up problems? You don't see a #3 seed go away from a #2 12-5 team's bracket into a #1 17-0 team's bracket very often. I trust the coach knows what's best for his team.
