Once again a BVC team sends the T-Birds to basketball season after week 11. I guess it wasn't all on Coop.

The Barely Varsity Conference strikes again. Maybe the conference is a little better than some people think.

I agree. The BVC is better than people give it credit. Maybe not from top to bottom but the top teams are usually pretty good and can compete against most schools from other conferences. They prove it just about every year.

I think it might have more to do with all the distractions that have been following LCC...

Or LCC not being as physical up front and VB being disciplined and executing well all night long.

So you think that impacts the players? Could be, but I think if I were in that situation I would use it as a motivating factor rather than let it demoralize me.

Manhandled on both sides of the line and more physical at skill positions too..

I think the only people worried about "distractions" are old guys on message boards. The kids and coaches are concentrating on the game. Like a couple other posters said, give Van Buren some credit for playing well.

The Knights have been laying hits and dominating up front all season. The win over the T-Birds was no surprise for me. Even in our two losses this year to Arlington and LB we were physical as hell and played with discipline and determination. The final score of the game doesn't reflect how one sided a victory this was for the Knights. At one point in the 3rd it was 42-19. The Birds simply could not handle us up front end of story. On the defensive side we were solid too. LCC managed to rip off 3 or 4 big plays towards the end, but overall our boys held them in check most of the night. The officiating was terrible. I counted three balls that hit the ground and were called completions for LCC. Lost count of the no calls on holding. The one ref didn't have a goddamn clue what was going on. He was quite entertaining to watch. Solid win for the BVC and the Black Knights. Congrats to LCC for a fine season.

VB was the better team.....LCC did/has/is/will have continued distractions. They started last season after we predicted Coach Cooper was leaving. It has continued throughout the season and finally culminated in Friday night's defeat...what a so-called old guy says on a message board is simply an opinion....and as you can see, we allow you to express yours....unlike other sites such as the RC....thank you RM

What distractions do you think got the LCC players in coaches in such a tizzy that they couldn't beat Van Buren? Were the distractions in effect when they beat NWC champ Jefferson?

Let's not get carried away, this isn't your fathers (or Coop's) LCC team. This was an 8-2 team with a so so schedule. They beat DSJ by 7 and we know what DSJ was this year. Nice win for Van Buren, nice to see them finally make the post season, but let's not get silly. We've already seen some D7 teams that would compete very well in this region. Don't know if we could run the numbers, but I wonder if VB even makes the playoffs if it's 6 regions instead of 7?

VB's 14.95 would have qualified them 8 of 13 times in R18 from 2000-2012. Had Bluffton been their typical 5-5 selves VB would have been at 15.75, good enough all but 2 years in that time span

Maybe LCC having a home game would have helped?

I was there... No, it wouldn't have helped

Unless LCC has some larger linemen who missed the bus and coulda' walked to the game if it was home?

Time after time VB got pressure rushing only 3... even when LCC kept a back in to help pick it up.
Not sure which is dumber... An idiot or one who argues with an idiot!
