WBL Prediction Contest, Week 5

(4-0) Wapak at Celina (3-1)
(1-3) Elida at Van Wert (1-3)
(4-0) O-G at Defiance (0-4)
(2-2) St. Marys at Bath (1-3)
Game of the week: Finally, a game between two teams with winning records. This might be the first one this year. If Celina loses, its title chances no doubt go down the drain and its playoff chances would drop a bit too. Wapak is looking to stay undefeated and keep pace with O-G for the league lead.
Last week:
35 people made picks, 32 have now entered each week, as two people didn't last week. It was an easy week for me to add up, although only four people went 5-0. Most people went 4-1, and one person went 3-2. Elida caught most people, although those who picked Van Wert or Shawnee usually had St. Marys over Elida as well. The consensus went 4-1 with Elida being the loss. Wapak (Bath) and Celina (Defiance) were the two unanimous picks, with the other three being close. Only one person picked Shawnee to lose to O-G, two people picked Kenton to lose to Van Wert, and five people picked Elida to lose to St. Marys. bigred55 moved into a tie for first with dhsdawg06, on the basis of an undefeated week. Not much else changed with almost everyone going 4-1...

Wapak- Wapaks run and pass defense iN a spread formation is the very best in the league, I think it will be close, but Wapak pulls it out 38-21
Van Wert- complete toss up
O-G- OG rolls and rolls and rolls again
St. Mary's- also a toss up. This years St. Marys team, popular to contrary belief, is not a Doug Frye team.

(2-2) Kenton at Shawnee (1-3): Kenton will be able to name the score, Shawnee and Defiance will battle for the basement this year
(4-0) Wapak at Celina (3-1): Easily the toughest call, I'm going with Wapak because they seem to be able to control the ball a bit better and have more athletes, Celina has a few great athletes but not the volume of Wapak
(1-3) Elida at Van Wert (1-3): Van Wert starts crawling to the middle of the pack
(4-0) O-G at Defiance (0-4): O-G could score 70 against Defiance, but Schriner is too classy of a guy to let that get out of control
(2-2) St. Marys at Bath (1-3): Second toughest game to call, St. Marys looks a lot better but they haven't won a game against a good team yet

Celina-going with the 'dogs in the upset. Wapak is ripe this week.
Elida-Toss up game. Depends which Van Wert team shows up. I'll say the bad one.
OG- Blowout city
Bath-Going out on a limb again. St. Marys is a very bipolar team. Should have never lost at Shawnee but upset Elida on the road. Look for a let down this week again.

Wapak - Game of the week, will be surprised if not close.
Elida - Hard game to figure out
OG - OG always has athletic DB's which causes match up problems for Defiance
Bath - Another hard pick. Just a hunch.

Wapak v Celina- a down year for the WBL makes celina look better than they actually are. Redskins win in a rout 34-6.
Elida v Van Wert- guy from Shawnee told me this van wert team will come out and punch you in the mouth. Don't think elida will respond well to that. Cougars 38-20.
OG v Defiance- roll titans roll.
St Mary's v Bath- toss up, but I think the roughriders carry las weeks momentum into this week and pull out a W against a below average bath team. St Mary's 22-14.
