Minster loses a shocker to USV and Fort Recovery falls to Ada. Of all the years for the MAC to get their wish for an end to the MAC sectional...

This site is nearly extinct. However, the USV vs. Minster score didn't surprise me. We played both teams, and USV is legit. Good to see USV and Ada win against the MAC schools. On another note - Arcadia undressed Riverdale last night by 20 in a game that was never close. Flip flop of regular season game when Riverdale beat Arcadia by 15. It's tourney time, no doubt.

The MAC didn't really lose out. In the old setup, the most that could have advanced were 2 teams. This year, the top 2 MAC teams advanced to districts.

Crestview destroyed Delphos Jefferson by 30+ points to advance to play Ottoville in District Semi's.

Didn,t lose out but more driving and smaller attendance at games didn,t help anyone for the same results in the end.

One thing for sure, for the most part, girls hoops pretty predictable. Most 1-4 seeds advance. Now it gets interesting.

I agree with you Common Sense - games mean something now with competition level getting better. While I love the new format, I am not in love with what it does for the crowd size. Districts in past have been awesome venues (Liberty Benton for us) that had two close teams with good followings. Nearly sold out crowds. Not sure what to expect on Thursday when Arlington plays Arcadia @ Gibsonburg. Will the locals drive the hour and how many other local teams that would normally come to the game, actually drive an hour to watch?

Fort Jennings and Leipsic play in Van Wert.....that'll be an interesting matchup attendance wise.

The new format doesn't really affect the district level, does it? Arlington could've played Arcadia last year at Gibsonburg if they kept winning, unless I'm mistaken. With the new setup, unless you are the #2 seed and have to go opposite the #1, you can always choose the closer venue.

Last year the district would have been in Liberty Benton, not Gibsonburg. Not complaining but that is one of the downfalls of this new system. Overall, I am satisfied with it.
