Is it just me or does the seeding for the WBL tourn. seem fixed?
Not that defiance wasn't the best team

But it seemed like defiance was able to have first round matches when they were seeded first or second but the third seed would have a bye..
Having the first round match against a pud helps the team points obviously


Shouldn’t the first seed have the bye??

And how did Ambos not get the 1 seed?

How did Rudasill not get seeded?... how did hughs Rudasill and Siebert all end up on the same side

How did Blaine Hunter only wrestle one match and win?

Why was clellen allowed to avoid ambos but still allowed to wrestle matches after that?

I never understood how a 1 or 2 seed doesn't get a bye before a lower seed. Although my son would rather not have a first round bye and then sit around for two more hours.
I was surprised a some of the seedings. Rudasil and Ambrose were two of them

I think Hunter had a someone forfeit why he only had one match but Congrats to him on his Hundredth win!!

I do wish the WBL would use Baums Page or Track Wrestling though, with a good accurate schedule and brackets and seeding.

Agree with the last statement above. Can't seem to get any information till after it is all over 24 - 48 hrs!

Defiance Seeds and first round
106 #1 seed we were only seeded kid with a bye
120 #1 no seeded kid had a bye
126 #1 only seeded kid to wrestle with no bye.(evens out from 106)
132 #1 no byes to any seeds
138 #3 only seeded wrestler to have a match first round was #2
145 #3 #1 and #3 both received bye
152 #3 all seeds with byes
160 #1 all seeds with byes
170 unseeded but all seeds with byes
182 #3 we wrestled first round
195 unseeded we drew the #1 only #3 received a bye
220 #3 we wrestled first round #2 and #4 with byes
285 #1 no byes

Our 106 #1 received a bye our #1 126 wrestled. Our #3's 138 and 145 received byes and our #3's 182 and 220 wrestled. It looks like an even playing field to me.

The byes along with unseeded wrestlers are put on lines at random and are system generated. No one places byes on lines.

Seeds are based on criteria and then ironed out among coaches if there is a discrepancy.

The brackets and seedings aren't available till after the fact. The starting time was wrong on the WBL page. It just seems that it could be ran a little more professionally. The tournament, itself did flow nice and was smooth.

I think the #1 seed should always have the bye if there is one available

I also think that the seeding should be more focused on the head to head and WBL match comparisons if the two wrestlers haven’t wrestled yet this year



Random question… if Dylan Hefner would have wrestled this year where do you think he would have been.. Hall vs Hefner, would have been nice to see
