I seen the courier posted via twitter that the head football job is now open again. I thought this new coach was a recent hire in the school system as a teacher as well as a first year head coach? I wonder how many will apply for this job this time around but it seems there is definitely some type of problem within that schools athletics program since they will now have their 3rd or 4th coach in 5 years. I heard from a co-worker that is close to some people involved in CR and they have heard the rumor that this coach will continue to teach at CR but is going to become an assistant coach at Pandora Gilboa. Maybe he should teach at PG too, hopefully CR makes the right choice and sends this guy on his way since he is a first year teacher for showing a lack of commitment to that community.

I told someone I know to apply for the Cory position. He said that he didn't like football. I told him that he would be perfect for the job.

My mom likes to watch football. Can she be the coach?

Another RM nugget......

THE next head football coach @ CR will be former ML coach, Michael Cramer. He will be a perfect fit to lead the Hornets back to their glory years of when Coach Berry was on the sidelines.

Only if he brings 400 boys spead over 12 grades with him. Urban Meyer wouldn't be able to turn c-r around.

With numbers in the 20 s and not any commitment no chance.

Unfortunately, I think the CR community has less patience than the ML community. I don't know that Coach Cramer will take on another project like this after all the work he did in Maria Stein with no acknowledgement.

Cinco de Mayo,
you might be on to something there....I always wondered why he hadn't landed another head coaching job after that....never
crossed my mind that perhaps he wasn't interested any longer....thanks RM

I thought their numbers thru some of the lower grades were looking up? Like from JH to maybe sophomore class?

I bet he's interested. Maybe like the old encyclopedia salesman- he could be traveling the countryside in a broken down car with his coaching portfolios in the trunk.

Here's another name for the CR search committee- Ernie Simpson.

"not any commitment"? The coach or the kids? Who quit who?

I believe if C.R. keeps football they can win 10 games. That is if you add up all of their wins the next 3 years. I don't care who the coach is.

Three reasons to three different sets of people were given as to why the coach resigned. Per my understanding..

1) to the BoE per his letter. " to concentrate on starting a family"

2) behind closed doors to the Superintendent and HS principle...
" the kids quit on me"

3) to the players " Being a head coach interferes to much with my church activities"

#2 is blatantly false..

I can't answer for 1 and 2 those are personal choices.

Apparently one of the only people that didn't buy into his " we not me" philosophy was him!

I have been at the school 3 times this week as school was letting out but have yet to find him in his room when I got there...

At this point I don't even care if I see him ... he's done and the kids want nothing to do with him any longer. He lied to them about his commitment to them.
He might as well resign from his teaching position also.

Who quit who?? .... Who wasn't committed... I have my opinion!

Interesting three reasons that he has given to three different groups of people. Typically- one reason to every group suffices.

Why would he resign from his teaching position? If the CR administration is willing to have him as a teacher why would he leave?

The truth probably lies somewhere among all three, but in situations such as this, it's often closer to #2 than most would care to admit.

At this point to my understanding the BoE has no recourse. He is under contract.

While CR didn't win as many games as they would have liked they did improve thru the season. Considering he got the job in June it is hard not to think the kids would have benefited greatly from a whole summer with his system especially with only losing 3 seniors.
I have talked to some.of the kids and they were willing to learn and move forward..

Most new teachers by law can only get a 2 year contract or maybe even a one year. Not sure but he isn't locked in to Cory forever.

I believe he has a one year contract. First year teacher. He can be let go without any reason if school district decides that is best move. LJ
