commited by/called on a coach or player?

I think since we're in a much smaller arena than a fb field, we get to take in more of a 'wide-angle view', and therefore, more of the bball coaches' and players' actions are caught in our eyesight and standout---as they are also caught by the officials.

I was watching a replay game tonight and a coach got T'd up & it got me to thinkin' about some of the more memorable T's I've witnessed........

Share some of yours.

Saw a Paulding kid a few years back get mad after a call, take the ball and throw it as hard as he could against the mat under the basket. Needless to say, he got an emphatic T lol

PH @ Bryan,1997,Krauss olly oop pass to T.Hiser,he got T'd up for pulling the rim down,it was a close game,a 5 point swing made it a 8 point lead, that was in the 3rd quarter,in the forth Bryan's 6'9" center blocked a shot on top of the key and took it the length for a dunk an also pulled the rim down, guess what,no t on him, lost the game but ended up state champs that year.

This was in a girls game, but Minster coach Nann Stechschulte was showing an official how an opposing player flopped on a charging call. Nann starts backpedaling and before you know it she's on her keister! I doubt she tried to do it to show up the ref but he had to give her a technical at that point.

2000 District finals: DSJ vs. Fort Jennings A very, very intense, hard fought game between backyard rivals. A close game late when DSJ is called for a foul. DSJ's Brett Norris disputes the call with the ref that called it. He's chewing on the ref as he reports the foul to the scorer's table. The ref is basically ignoring him. Then the ref at the far end of the court, 50+ feet away, sprints down the court and T's up Norris... twice! FJ gets six free throws and possession, game over.

Several years back. Patrick Henry playing Holgate at the Tiger Cage...Opening tip. Ball goes out of bounds. What I don't recall is whether PH tipped the ball out of bounds or if it went off a PH player but do remember there was no clear possesion off the tip...Call is made correctly and Holgate is given possesion. Then the head official instructed scorer's table that possession arrow was in favor of Holgate...Dave Krauss questions possession arrow determination and finally gets to the point that he walks away from the official. Referee tells Krauss he(Krauss) is going to talk to him(ref) about the possession arrow determination...Krauss refuses to and if memory serves me correctly, sits down on the bench telling official, "just get the call right"...Nothing more said, ref "T's" him up...I'm a PH fan but absolutely hilarious...Technical assesssed on the bench(coach) for NOT speaking to an official...Still laugh thinking about it

I remember Shawnee Jr high game when one of the grandfathers would not shut up. He was yelling at the refs every second of the game. They had asked him repeatly to settle down. Then told the coach he was going to T the crowd if he couldn't get the man to settle down. The grandfather then called the ref a "tinkle toy". That did it. He T'd the grand father and threw him out of the gym. We were all laughing so hard. It really was funny to watch.

District tournament game in '99 @ Wapak-I don't remember the opponent. Chuck Bihn goes up for a dunk and the ball hits the back of the iron and bounces straight up. With one hand Bihn holds on the rim, the other hand grabs the ball and stuffs it through the basket. Pretty awesome play, but a tech for holding onto the rim. Even Coach Bruns cracked a smile at that one.

Not a "t", but funny - we were playing Houston @ FR. JV game, one ref was just absolutely terrible. He was screwing Houston so bad it was embarrassing to FR fans. He made another awful call in our favor and a fan behind me stands up and yells "You're so bad, I'm rooting for Houston". (Ref stops game and has fan removed at this point)

That is funny. Epspecially the "Tinkle Toy" silliness. It's like when the oldtimers say "Gobledygook."

Cant remember the teams involved. It was somewhere around Springfield/Dayton about 25 years ago. Coach was eventually thrown out after the referee called a two shot shooting foul against the opposing team but did not count the basket. He pretty much came unglued!!!

This was a planned technical, but had a very strange outcome. In 1984, MC and DSJ were playing in the District Finals at Elida. With 2 seconds to go, MC scored and took a 1 point lead. DSJ was out of timeouts, but stopped the clock with 1 second to go with an "extra timeout". Jeff Hermiller of MC immediately shot and made both foul shots giving MC a 3 point lead. In addition MC was awarded the ball out of bounds with a 3 point lead and 1 second on the clock. Game over! Not so fast Tim. Coach Arnzen argued that the technical foul shots had to be shot after the timeout, not during or before. He won the arguement. The officials took the two points off the board and had Hermiller reshoot the two foul shots. He made one and missed one, thus now the lead was only two. MC threw the ball away on the inbounds and DSJ got the ball at half court, down two. They inbounded it to Bockey and he hit the rim, but missed a 20 footer.

It was Bath at O-G in 1985 . Shawn Balbaugh got fouled and Terry Morman went to the free throw line . When Bath's coach figued out that the wrong player was at the line , he ran on the court and got the first T . Then the refs talked and put Terry back on the line . The Bath coach was still mad and screaming . And got his second T. The ref asked him if he wanted another and he said yes , so he got a third T and ejected . So Terry ended up at the free throw line with eight free throws . Three free throws in the crowd stood up and started to cheer , six free throws in the crowd was going crazy .Terry ended up making eight straight free throws and O-G got the ball . And I think Terry made a basket on that possesion . A Ten point play .

Five years ago, Houston was playing at Jackson Center, and Coach Willoughby of Houston was yelling at the refs and got two technicals during the JV game and then was forced to the locker room. The JV coach then had to coach the varsity team and Houston ended up losing in a blowout.

And the ref that called the technicals on then coach Dwaine Holt was no other then the president of the Ohio High School Athletic Association Dr. Daniel Ross. And as Paul Harvey use to say "And now you know the rest of the story."

I have to bring up Tricky Dick Kortokrax ! Whenever a game got close at a critical time---there was Dick out on the floor in front of the ref jumping up and down like a 9 year old kid. The old fella used to jump pretty good ! This maneuver turned many a game around in the favor of his Wildcats !

The two that Continental had called on them against Ft Jennings were pretty interesting. Coach got one when he said a call was "bs" pretty loud and the other was on their center after he fouled out i think for not leaving the court quick enough.
