BERLIN - Amanda Cahill made two free throws with 7.4 seconds left to lead Division II, second-ranked Clyde past Cincinnati Winton Woods in a sloppy game, 30-29 at the 10th annual Classic in the Country.
With the game tied at 28, Clyde came out of a Winton Woods (11-5) timeout in man-to-man zone for the first time. Imani Partlow drove to the hoop for the Warriors and was fouled. She made the first but Winton Woods grabbed the rebound, forcing Clyde to start fouling with 40 seconds left, having just two team fouls. They put the Warriors in the bonus with 19 seconds left but a missed free throw gave Cahill the chance to drive and get fouled. She made both and the Clyde defense forced an off-balance shot that fell short and sent the Clyde foul into a frenzy.
Cahill led the Lady Flyers (17-0) with 18 points and eight rebounds, and played all 32 minutes.
Partlow led Winton Woods with 14 points and 12 rebounds while Tyra James scored 11 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Winton Woods led 9-7 after one quarter and 23-21 after three quarters.
