Riverdale might be a tough team this year. Also, Leipsic got a new coach this year and is doing an amazing job. They had a rough year last year but bringing in new girls will help them. Top players for Leipsic this year are going to be Gerten, Krinke, Rieman, Inkrott, and Ellerbrock. These girls are all going to be Juniors. They play well together and know the court well. Everyone should be suprised this year from these Lady Vikes. Van Buran will also be a wonerful team once again this year.

Columbus Grove will also have a well put together team. They seem dedicated. Findlay will have a great team. They have a new coach this year Bob Moran. He did wonders with Leipsic so I'm sure he'll do the same with Findlay. Findlay has a team with an all around talent.

P-G has a good hitting team. I think their front row can play with anybody. Their weakness is going to be passing. I believe they play Riverdale the match of the season. Should tell alot about both teams.

I'm glad to see the Continental Pirates again having a team. Heard lots of good things about the Coach. Obviously it will be a building year.

GOOD LUCK PIRATES!

Marion Local has 5 starters back and is trying to win their 4th straight DIV title. They have a better than fair chance.

I'm also backing Marion Local as one of the teams to keep an eye on this year. Not only are they a great group of girls, they are tremendous athletes as well!

In the BVC your top four teams are Van Buren, Pandora Gilboa, McComb, Arlington.

Van Buren - The volleyball numbers are down. They have a solid team returning but I believe lost one player to injury for the season. They can not afford to lose any more players to injury. They will be in the hunt for the BVC crown led by their senior/BVC player of the year candidate outside hitter (Adolph).

Pandora Gilboa has alot of size, speed, and power. The test for the rockets will be their passing accuracy and the ability of setters to put up hittable sets for their opponents. After missing last season with a knee injury, look for senior/BVC player of the year candidate (Shulte) to lead the charge with senior K. Hovest backing her up. The offensive potential is there if the rockets can get the ball to the hitters.

McComb - Ball control, ball control, ball control. This team is solid all the way through the lineup. They might possibly have the top setter in the conference along with right side Lepelmeyer (spelling). A tough serving team with dedication and focus this team could make a deep playoff run.

Arlington - With a lot of younger players on the squad, they are deceiving bunch of girls. They are not a big team but play sound defense and are solid passers. If you are not prepared this team could sneak up on you.

Look for Columbus Grove to be in the hunt for the PCL / NWC title. I think the Pandora/Grove match could be pretty exciting.

In the northwest conference the top four teams from 2009 have all lost key players but those four should remain on top
Delphos Jefferson has a new coach and still has Culp and Klausing. Grove is always competitive. LCC has alot of players involved in JO and will be a tough opponet.
Crestview will be small with Burger, Hamerick, Hicks, and Springer returning none of which is over 5'7". They will need to use speed and solid defense to compensate for lack of blocking, hopefully someone else will step up and give them a boost. New coaches in Paulding and Spencerville so hopefully the league will become stronger.

Northwest Conference will go to LCC. They compete against some of the best teams during the summer & scrimmages. They might struggle with those teams but it prepares them for the season. Bluffton, Grove & Crestview will follow. Crestview's lack of heighth & lack of numbers will take a toll.

How is it going after a month? No surprises in the Mac with Marion Local being perfect and Parkway being very strong. Wayne Trace seems to be up and down and Van Wert is struggling. In the NWC, Paulding and Allen East have shown improvement. Columbus Grove seems to be down. Crestview has had a nice start with loses to only Parkway and a nice Antwerp team. Anyone else?

Marion Local and their SUPERSTAR Alyssa "Red" Winner will be the team and player to watch in all Division IV games. The flyers are now 9-0 and just took down number 4 in the state at St. Henry. The flyers have yet to drop a set. The flyers can spread the ball around setting to whoever because the whole team is solid.
