Wrigley Field is amazing. Go to a weekend game there and its like a college football Saturday. I sat out in the right field bleachers a couple years ago when the Cubs played the Astros. It rained for about the last 3 innings but very few people left and they all kept drinking. It was an afternoon game and the bars around the neighborhood were hopping all night.

I would love to go to Fenway and Yankee Stadium. The history at those two places cannot be matched.

Even though it wasn't a very pretty place Tiger stadium was great to watch a game. As long as you weren't behind a pole. The seats in the upper deck were closer to the field than seats right along the baseline at newer stadiums. If you sat close enough you could even hear the players scratching themselves.

of course Fenway because of history and age, second oldest compared to wrigley and i thought Jacob's field was beautiful when i went to see the indians play...i was on the first baseline second deck but after the game went down toward the field and there was a HUGE wind in there

Jacobs field is nice, its not flashy like a lot of the new parks but I think that will make it better years from now. It doesn't use gimmiks that can get old.

I think Fenway is the oldest park. It was opened the same season as Tiger Stadium.

You had me wondering diehard so I had to look it up.
Wrigley opened on April 23th 1914
Fenway opened on April 20th 1912

You'll be proud of our young people in the classroom, in the community, and most especially in 310 days in Ann Arbor, Michigan on the football field. - Jim Tressel

Personally i have been to multiple stadiums including Fenway and Yankee stadium and Fenway is much better than Yankee stadium. Just the atmosphere of the Boston fans makes it awesome. And the Red Sox fans arent near as beligerent as the Yankee fans. As for the newer stadiums, PNC Park in Pittsburgh is the best park i have been to lately. And PETCO Park In San Diego looks nice on TV as well.

Pac-Bell / AT&T ballpark is a place I definitely would like to see. At least from TV that place, the Pirates and the Padres parks look nice. I would also like to visit Camden Yards too.

Well.... thinking about it maybe I'll just quit my job and start driving around the country checking out ballparks!!!!
I'm sure once I got back my wife would have the locks changed and my belongings would have been long since sold on Ebay!

For minor league parks I have been to 5/3 in Toledo and that place is great. Also the park in Memphis were the Redbirds play is pretty nice. All left field is a grass hill that you can sit on and watch the game.

Gunner,

Foul balls are something I used to collect at good old Tiger Stadium. Used to get there plenty early for batting practice over the years and probably had a total of 20 or so at one time. Gave many of them to each of my nephews. They probably lost them by now. wink.gif
One time during a game I even got hit by a line drive. It came off the bat of former SS Tommy Veryzer. He hit a slicing line drive down the right field corner. Myself and 3 of my buddies all froze as it headed towards us. Like a real hero rolleyes.gif I took it right off the side of my stomach. Didn`t feel a thing because of the shock I guess. About 3 or 4 ushers came running over to check if I was alright. Must have been because I couldn`t stop laughing. Heck, they even wanted to take me down the tunnel to make sure I was alright. If I would have been thinking I would have hammed it up. Oh well, at least I got another ball.
