The San Diego Padres in round 7 selected Matt Wisler of Bryan, then 2 rounds later took Justin Hancock, a Defiance alumni.

Anyone else out there in the area lucky enough to be drafted today?

Heard Justin Hancock of Defiance went in round 9 to the Padres. Can't believe Ajay Meyer of Patrick Henry and Ashland has not been drafted yet.

Congratulations to Matt Wissler, Justin Hancock, & Ross Gerdeman. I think Wissler & Gerdeman have options, and therefore leverage, as to whether they want to sign this year or not. Got to believe Ajay will get a chance somewhere as a free agent, especially since his injury was really not arm-related at all I believe

According to his Facebook...Ajay Meyer has signed with the Toronto Blue Jays. Not sure if he was drafted or not.

######uming Wisler signs, there's a chance that Fort Wayne could have a Bryan and a Defiance native on the team in a couple of years. I'd imagine they'd get some good crowds from NW Ohio if that happens.
