If these last 4 years have been a dream, can someone please never wake me up?
Of the 7 team titles won in Defiance sports history (4 baseball, 1 football, 1 basketball, 1 cross country), the class of 2016 has been a part of 5 of them. And in the case of this year's baseball title, they did it despite literally playing every game either on the road or at a neutral site (I guess you could consider DC a "home" game, but the fact is this team had no home stadium). Just a great group of kids with a lot of talent and a hell of a work ethic. We're gonna miss them, but hopefully some of that rubbed off on the younger kids.
Just hard to believe that my alma mater, in boring old Defiance, has a bona fide statewide dynasty on their hands right now. I have no idea when this run will end, and it may very well be next year. But I'm sure enjoying this ride and I hope everyone else in town is too. This is something truly special going on right now.

Congrats to Defiance on their state title too.
Crestview softball picks up their 11th trip to state final four since 2000....their 3rd state title.....and they have 3 state runner-ups to go along with it.
Crestview and Strasburg Franklin are the two best small school softball programs in Ohio...hands down.
