Russias pitchers arent that good

if i remember correctly last year russia's jordan monnin shut down loramie at loramie only giving up..2 runs was it?.. id say you have to be pretty good to do that. or will you argue that that was an "off" day for loramie baseball?

That was awhile ago with all the Loramie people coming on here and being idiots. Just let them go. Russia's looks like they have a solid team in baseball too.

I know two things about this game and what happened during it. Monnin pitched a heckuva game. That being said, it wasn't Loramie's best game either. It seems to happen to them sometimes, especially when Loramie plays russia....but what matters most is that Russia's pitchers aren't not that good as Jrod said. Nothing like that can be said about them at all. They will have pitching that will help them contend for county. The second time that Russia played Loramie they had a chance to get back at Monnin and he didnt pitch until the game was already in Loramie's hands. They got like 3 runs off of him then. This was posted when the immature Loramie guys got on. Let's not bring up the dirt, that was like 2 months ago.

So does that mean they are good with the double negative? whistling.gif

sorry, i did not really know how long ago it was posted..this is the first i have looked at this thread..anyways... russia will be pretty good this year...they have 8 pichers, who are all pretty good, and 5 good ones, and 3 aces. the only thing that might hurt russia is the way they hit the ball. last year they hit really bad... well accept for some.. but he already graduated. i think they had only 3 guys returning batting over .300. their dfense is really really tough...one thing that could help russia win/tie for league is their bats

I'm not sure that saying they have 3 aces is a proper term. Don't get me wrong, I love the Raiders, but I would classify an Ace as someone who dominates the game for 7 innings, and not just against the SCL, but against all opponents. Kevin Mann was an ace. Jordan Goldschmidt is an ace. Sure they would be aces on some of the teams in county, but I think I would take some other pitchers first. They're tough, but let's not kid ourselves by saying that there are 3 aces. And who are these 8 guys? I would assume that McEldowny, Schafer, and Monnin would be the three kids you're calling aces? Who are these other 5 guys that are all pretty good? Interesting indeed.

Agreed. I would say they have 3 #1's for their teams, but no real stopper...however, they don't have a great drop off in ability to throw between those 3 guys, which will make them competitive...especially with so many game scheduled early in the year.

Which brings up a pet peeve...why try to schedule 5-6 games a week early in the year like HS's do? Why not work up to that more...I know the season is short but man...weather and early hurting arms really take a lot away from them...

I think they schedule a lot of games early that way they have time to make them up when it rains...which is almost always the case.

We will see 2morrow how good the Russia pitching is....I hear Loramie is on a hitting spree right now with a team batting average of .400, and it is rumored that Goldschmidt is on the hill to start the game...should be a good one!!!

The Redskins won this game by playing small ball. They're batting average isn't near .400. Their best hitter (Jared Hoying) barely has a batting average. Numbers don't win ball games though, guts and execution do. It was a good game though.

Goldschmidt pitched real well. Only gave up 3 hits, both runs unearned. The Redskins hit pretty well against Russia's ace Schafer. Russia played fundamentally sound, just couldn't muster enough hits off of Goldschmidt. There were some key hits in the game, most notably a 2 out single by Andy Long that scored Ludlow from second putting the Skins' up 2-0.
