The Allen County wrestling tournament was held yesterday at Lima Sr. high school starting at 10:00am...........since I was doing a little Christmas shopping I decided to swing on by and leave the area's wrestling fans a little early Christmas present ..........

Mustangs place fourth in Allen County wrestling tournament

LIMA - The Allen East grapplers had one champion and three second place finishers as they took fourth place out of ten teams in Saturday's Allen County Invitational at Lima Senior High.

The Mustangs Dylan Ford took the top spot as he won a 5-0 decision over Delphos St. John's Anthony DeWitt in the 145 lbs class amd Garrett Freeman lost to Elida's Shawn Brunk for second place in the 112 lbs class.

AE's Matt Dues was bested by Elida's Jordan Fricke in the championship match and Jeremy Pryor lost to Jeff Fritz of Delphos St. John to place second in the 275 lbs division.

Elida's Bulldogs won the tournament with 291 points. The Bluffton Pirates scored 2561/2 points to take second place over the third place Spencerville Bearcats (247) and Allen East (236) in fourth place.

The Mustangs Trey Fisher defeated Shawnee's Ryan Nichols to take thrid place in the 125 lbs class with Ryan Rider of Shawnee gaining a 4-1 decision over AE's Mike Walters in the 135 lbs class.

The Mustangs take the annual trip south to Cincinnati on January 5 and 6, for the two-day Madeira tournament to face some of the best teams in southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky.
