Crestview beat a pretty decent New Bremen team. Crestview plays Marion Local next. Minster is in sight....

Minster almost lost to Ada. Ada was ahead for 3 qtrs. Thought it be a shootout by the end of the 1st qtr. Ada was up 23-19 by hitting 7 3 pointers in the 1st

The problem for Ottoville is playing teams that are physical defensively. They have struggled with teams like that in the past 6 years. Unless Ottoville gets more physical they are not beating a team like Arlington.

Ya teams will have games like that. Minster is tough, after all I think they did beat Arlington. Either way they will be a tough out.

.I think the winner of Ottoville/Arlington goes to state!!!!!

What about st Wendelin? Are they a balanced team now or still have that giant and no supporting cast?

St. Wendelin is slightly more balanced as they returned almost everyone, but make no mistake, everything goes through K.Troike in bigger games & they still play the same way they did during the tournament last year (which was effective). Also, the younger Troike played last year too, but she's nowhere near the player the older one is.
Their game plan:
1. Get the ball to K.Troike
2. Get the ball to Rutter (PG/SG)
3. Repeat step 1.
Also, FSW's first test will be to get by Carey in the district finals, which is no certainty.

Yikes thats what I was afraid of. The 2 games I seen St Wendy play they did just that and it was boring to watch. But hey if it works, why change? I felt like yelling down at the opposing coaches to swtich something up. Like make the guards beat them with outside shooting. I'll take a wide open midrange-peremeter shot than an easy shot from inside the paint.

Can DSJ take down Arlington, thoughts Flounder? Can Ottoville beat Leipsic? I hope for both.
von, I went to Findlay and the Lady Green looked like a state caliber team. They didn't miss a beat with their bench players either. Got to hand it to their coaches also. I know they have them prepared for every game. If Leipsic keeps it close it was due to divine intervention or a total meltdown of the Lady Green.

Anyone know how many wins Coach Kleman has?

General, Coach Kleman has around 450 wins, he started coaching at Ottoville in 1993. I listened to the MC game on the computer, and hopefully the others tomorrow and Saturday. If they can keep playing like they did the other night it could be interesting VS. Arlington, if they get by Leipsic. Arlington is a very tough team. It is too bad they are in the same district for the first time. Ottoville used to be at Van Wert, but then they would meet Minster. Oh well, we will see what happens. Thanks.

I covered the games last night at Gibsonburg. St Wendelin struggled when Old Fort started attacking the basket, and Old Fort started to inch back after some effective 3-point shooting. Troike fouled out with about 3 1/2 mins left, but she did her thing for the other 29 minutes. I agree the lob and shot from Troike is the Mohawks game plan, teams just have to live with the fact she is going to score. Rutter and Burns bring some ball handling and defense. Rutter will attack the basket hard with her 5'9ish frame.

In the second game, Carey was on fire in the first half, they like the run and gun, you don't see that a lot in girls basketball. I think they are the most balanced team in this district. Wentling will fire off a 3 and majority of the time be clutch, even with a hand in her face. Bench players come off and can hit the 3 ball, but then you have two versatile Kin sisters at 6' and 6'2" that can battle in the post and hit the 8-10 footer.

I pick Carey in this district final.
