It is the battle of defeateds tonight one team will go home with a win the other going home winless. Which team will win this slugfest? Gametime 7:00 p.m. Dunkirk. Thoughts on the game?

I'm only guessing, but I bet the person that started the thread, the kids on the field tonight, and the two communities care about this game.

Agreed. It doesn't mean much state wide, or even region wide for that matter, but it means a lot to those kids that go out for football their freshmen year, because they know that if they don't, their school won't have a team. They have waited all season for this game. It gives them a chance to feel what it's like to be in a very competitive football setting. And that is what it is all about. Win or lose, being competitive in anything breeds success and improvement.

Sad to see the once mighty Bears like this....one of the largest falls from grace in recent memory.
Always a watchful eyes on those Tiffin Calvert Senecas, Marion Local Flyers, Fort Loramie Redskins , New Albany Eagles.

There's always an idiot who has to post comments like this, I'm sure the kids for both teams give all they've got. Not every kid can play for one of the areas better teams, it's fans like you that bring this site down.

Doesn't seem like it was all that long ago and New Bremen (now 2-7) was playing Hardin-Northern (now 0-9) in the Regional Finals. Sad.

I'd rather shower at Penn State than root for Michigan.

The players on both of these teams deserve alot of respect for going out every week and playing a football game. Hopefully each team will get more players out next year.

Lue 27-0. HN had 3 first downs, including one with time running out in the 4th quarter, and 29 yards of total offense. Both teams suited up 18 players for the game.

Congrats to the Lue! Wow - how the mighty Bears have fallen...now the question remains on whether they can even get up. Anyone take offense to the celebration noted in the Findlay Courier when Vanlue players/band were diving in the mud on the field in celebration post game?

Not looking good in Dola for any sport right now. I also heard that they are struggling to get enough girls out for basketball as well.

I agee (gulp) with NW Sports...this game going in was one of the few times ever that Vanlue had a legit chance to win a BVC game, and the same could be said for HN this year. Someone was walking out of this game very, very happy and with a reward for a year's worth of hard work and effort. I am happy for Vanlue and at the same time feel bad for HN on how far this program has fallen.
