After 2 preseason games, the Browns appear to be vastly improved. The new offense seems to finally fit the skill set of QB Weeden, Josh Gordon looks like an elite WR, and Jordan Cameron is a speed/size miss match at TE.

The worries over the switch to a 3 4 defense seem unfounded, as they are swarming all over the field like a pack of wild dogs. Even the special teams look improved as Benjamin has suitibly replaced Josh Cribbs.

We Browns fans must tread lightly, as our Brownies have cried wolf now for about 25 years, (When Bernie was still in his right mind) Could this curse that rivals the plague of the Pharaohs finally be lifting? As Charlton Heston, (Playing Moses with more ham than a Hormel factory) said to Yul Brenner :

"Surely now you will let my people go."

Snap! Another home opener down the tubes. When hopeful Browns fans predicted 8 and 8, the Miami game was one of those. Meanwhile, I spend the rest of my NFL Sunday watching players they could have drafted do better on other teams. Geno Smith, Clay Matthews Jr., and Ryan Tannehill are just three rapid fire examples. (I have more, but they are written on my Crying Towel that I left in the Whinery, located where I reside in The Factory of Sadness)

The Browns are tied for first in the AFC North a quarter of the way through the season. Long Live Chud!

Jordan Cameron is on pace for 120 catches, 1440 yards and 20 TD's.

The last time the Browns were this good my face was smooth, my back was strong, and the meniscus in my knees were as thick as shoe soles. I am drinking the Brian Hoyer Kool-Aid as we speak.

Browns will face the Bills next week which is a very winnable game and could go to 3-2. But then it gets tough. Their next 5 opponents will be vs Lions, at Packers, at Chiefs, vs Ravens, at Bengals. Then few weeks later they will have the Patriots and Bears. I think their defense is stepping up big, but it's their offense that will need to step up in order to have a chance at beating some of these teams that I just mentioned. I see the Browns going 7-9 splitting with the Bengals, Steelers and Ravens.

I would be happy with 7-9 or 8-8. I wouldn't expect any more than that

I think the winner of the AFC North will have a 9-7 record. I think it's a long shot that the Browns could get 9 wins but like I said that's a long shot considering some of the teams they have to go up against yet. Would 7-9 though be worth it? Because let's face it, unless that record wins the division, that won't get them a wild card spot. And with that record they would possibly pick 10-15 in next years draft. The talk with some people after the Richardson trade, was the fact that they would "tank" the remainder of the season which is in all honesty not a bad idea considering they just don't have a title contending team at the moment. I am not a Browns fan, but if I were I would want them to tank the season so they can get better draft picks considering it seemed that's what the talk was after the Richardson trade. Care to hear some Browns fans thoughts on this.

I would normally agree, but they have lost for so long they can't attract quality Free Agents. I think if they can put up something like a .500 record, they might be able to get some O-Line help on that right side.

Two things I loved about the game:

1. Early in the game the Bengals showed no respect for the Browns defense by going for it on 4th and short within NUUUUGE chip shot territory….and the Browns D stuffed it to set the tone for the game.

2. The Browns got the ball in the 4th quarter and drove 90 yards-eating up the clock AND scoring 7 points. That is the kind of drive fans envisioned when they drafted Richardson….but they got it done with Hoyer and McGahee.

People tank seasons. It happens. Fans don't like it, especially season ticket holders, and I don't blame them. I mean wasn't part of the reason why the Browns traded Richardson was to maybe get better draft picks next season? Getting rid of your main offensive weapon tells me that they have no business of winning this year and are looking toward next season. Browns could easily tank and get some pretty solid weapons at any position. They may possibly win 7 games but won't be enough to win that division. So instead of picking in the top 5, they will settle for 10-15 pick.
