OHSAA = TOOL
I’m waiting for the day when the Private schools branch off and threaten to have their own tournament. Jerry will fold like a cheap deck of cards.....

So are we back to square one?? If so, they should just split Public and Private and be done with it.

That may be the only option left that is in the best interest of the public schools, especially ones in smaller communities.

Great news, maybe this will force the the public schools to have the courage to force a split between the public and private schools instead of relying on politicaly motivated, half hearted attempt the rectify a problem that gets worse every year!

Few years old, but can't think it's changed much.
Indiana is pretty cool about recruiting. They pretty much just turn their heads, but the studs there want to play big school ball against one another.
I'd like to see a no holds barred big school do whatcha like open division in Ohio.

CA has open transfers within reason. All school are classified by size when playoffs come. 32 teams gets into each division FB-14 Div.), Basketball about the same. If a team wins continually, 2 years in row, they move up to the next div. There are some Catholic leagues but not for playoffs.

I'm not really sure why the courts decided to get involved with this. What is their motivation? Are they that interested in high school athletics? Don't they have bigger issues to focus on?

Not sure why they got involved. I'll say this, that thing they passed regarding kids sitting out won't and shouldn't last. That'll be the next thing the OHSAA loses in court.

Sports are a privilege not a right. I think the transfer rule will stand. Was it last season or the year before when Lima had the court system rule a player could play but sit out the tournament In basketball?

I don't know. If another student transfers in and can participate in band, quiz bowl or cheerleading for entire season plus a tournament or competition at the end, a court is gonna rule against OHSAA.

If everyone starts challenging this stuff in court it will leave the OHSAA no option but to separate the public and privates, and I believe it will come to that at some point.
