Sorry about the formatting. If the forum allows tables, I'm unaware how to do it. I think it's fair to say it looks like the Elida District is gonna be the toughest.

Elida district is stacked. Kalida or PG will most likely come out of LB district

I see these list and think.......there is a bunch of bad basketball teams in this regional.

I think it will be just like last year when St. Johns got absolutely trashed in the State Semi's.

Agreed only one team from each district makes it and each one currently has 2-3 teams with double digit wins

I'm looking at the whole region. Are there good teams? Yes. Do I think they will compete at the state level. Probably not. I hope whoever makes it this year won't be embarrassed like last season.

While this top has been discussed at length at different times, I think the consensus is that is will continue to be difficult for the smaller community teams to compete with the small private schools that reside in and around the bigger cities.

With that said, I do think 3 of the districts have at least 1 high quality team.

Elida - Right now I think it's a tossup....Hicksville has looked good, but I question their schedule. Ottoville and Crestview certainly have the pieces to compete for a run to C-bus. But right now, I would say any of about 8 teams are capable to getting to BG. This is by far the most competitive district.

Napoleon - I think this is a battle between Pettisville and Toledo Christian....no one else.

Liberty-Benton - I think P-G comes out of this one. While i think their offensive season has been a little roller coaster, I do think they have to pieces to make a run to C-bus. Kalida is a flyer. P-G beat them the first meeting but I don't believe Kalida had their freshman. They could give P-G a run, but I still think it's P-G's district to lose.

Fostoria - I'm not sure it really matters who comes out of this one.

Pandora v. Kalida: a classic match up for Braidic in his recent years...especially at a district final a place where P-G infamously is known to blow huge leads (most notably the last year Braidic coached of his previous run at P-G vs Miller City-YIKES lets not bring that up- :wallbash: Ill be selling pitchforks and torches outside the gym if P-G blows another opportunity for regionals just in case...If the regional drought continues Im gonna be able to retire early.

When I think of Kalida giving P-G major heart break. I think of the 2009 sectional final at Bluffton. When Kalida drained a buzzer beater from about half court.

Who could forget that? Ive never seen the video myself, and perhaps it was time before absolutely everything got posted online, but people from both sides say that shot was after the buzzer, who knows if thats true. If P-G had a dollar for every time it was involved with a buzzer beater difference ... it might even have been that same year (if not then the season before) the PCL title came down to P-G making a buzzer beater 3 pointer vs Ottoville . Boy, was there drama after that game. Back when I could think of the PCL as an "elite" conference.

Also believe Kalida upset P-G (shared PCL) at the District finals the year after at Elida. Packed house for sure!
