Yep.........money, and lots of it needs to go to the right people...a few weeks ago WOSN and WTLW had a running banner at the bottom of screen. Seemed the OHSAA wouldn't allow them to show replay until 11:30 or such nonsense....it's about the money and those Hawaiian vacations.

My guess is those who bought the tv rights made that demand of the OHSAA. Perhaps the real media that is Rocketcorner could do an investigative report on where all the money goes in the OHSAA. I can't wait to read the fully credited report!!

I'd have a lot less of a problem if only divisional games were counted. The MAC did that for a few years with their divisions of 7 and 6. But it seems as if no one else even tries it.

You could play around with basically any divisional setup, but from time to time you're still gonna have the same problem. Let's break it down big school/small school. Now in my hypothetical you've got OG, Kenton, and LCC in the same division. So OG draws Defiance, Kenton draws St. Marys, LCC draws Wapak. You've still got a pretty large difference team to team there.

Idk, I guess I'm not necessarily calling anyone out who likes the system. That's up to you. I just much prefer what we have now. It's clean, it works, there's usually no controversy. It's the anti-NCAA, and that's never a bad thing.

The BVC only counts the divisional games. Liberty-Benton and Van Buren were the trophy winners. They used a formula of enrollment and wins over a period of time. Half the bigger and "good" in each division and likewise for the smaller "bad" teams. Crossovers were 3 games vs. "like" opponents. The divisions get refigured every couple of years so schools may move up or down in who they play.

In WBL terms: You could add Paulding and Wapak might never have play them in football. Unless Wapak falls off or Paulding starts winning games.

Paulding wants out of the NWC because they can not compete. They were rejected by the GMC. They want no part of the WBL. I don't think the WBL will add any team unless someone leaves and even then I think they would prefer two open dates in football.

GMC needs to add a couple of teams.

Holgate and Antwerp football is a couple of years from being gone. Antwerp wont be playing varsity next year.

It kills the teams in football playing these 2 for computer points and it kills money wise. AD's are trying to make money selling tickets to balance their budget. When 2 of ur 8 bring no fans to football, track, and wrestling it kills the other schools.

Would be nice to add 2 and keep the 2 because of tradition. Paulding and Montpelier would be good choices. But maybe Convoy, Edon or Stryker.
Paulding and Edon almost joined abut 6 to 7 years ago, but Holgate threatened to leave if those two were added for some reason....That would have given the GMC nine teams and an unequal number, but IMO I would've said good riddance to Holgate, geographically. Sports-wise Holgate never competes in anything except a few stretches here or there in Men's and Women's basketball.

Paulding would compete in their own ways. For Example, Paulding would compete well in baseball and Men's Basketball, while Edon (if you go by the last 8 years instead of last year) will compete in football and consistently make the playoffs in a weak Reg 24 in football.

Enrollment size wise moving to the GMC makes at certain level of sense and travel wise it would probably be a "push" with P.H.'s current NWOAL related travel distances. Travel wise though the BVC would be an improvement..............however...........there is a lot more computer points to be had if P.H. is relatively successful against their NWOAL league foes who are all larger in enrollment.

And this, of course, doesn't take into consideration Patrick Henry's past NWOAL consecutive football conference titles, other NWOAL records and long time membership in Ohio oldest high school league.

An 8-2 team in WBL not making playoffs raises eyebrows of league schools. There has been discussion, but I think "Hell" freezes over before this league changes anything. LJ

OG needs to schedule a better non league opponent and the rest of the league needs to win more of their non league games and nobody will be left out of the playoffs. How about OG playing St. Henry? I know they scrimmage.

Would love to see LB move to the WBL as an LB fan. I can only take so many Vanlue, Cory, Arcadia, etc. games. Heard SBC/SRL might merge with small and big school divisions.

The SBC and SRL officially merged last week.
Always a watchful eyes on those Tiffin Calvert Senecas, Marion Local Flyers, Fort Loramie Redskins , New Albany Eagles.

What does this last statement have to do with the current scenario at PH? PH is not a charter member of the NWOAl and they didn't even join the league until the late 70's or 80's. Right now PH enrollment is getting smaller and smaller each year. PH will not be able to compete with gratuating class sizes of 60 in the near future. The top half of the NWOAL will be 2 - 2.5 times the size. The BB team has won 7 games in the past two years. With the departure of Montpelier, PH will be the smallest school enrollment wise. PH had a phenomenal run in the 2000's but those days will not return mainly due to the Bryan's, Wauseons and Swantons turning their programs around.

You have to look out what's best for the kids today and into the future. Unlike the smaller schools in the BVC crying that LB is too big and should be kicked out, Montpelier never whimpered and found other options. I think it's time for PH to look for other options as well.

In other news: Crestline is officially leaving the N10 and will join the Mid-Buckeye Conference beginning in 2015-16 for all sports.

Does the N10 join the leagues that can't count or do they add 1 to go back to ten?

The smaller division is a few football members short. Gibsonburg? Hopewell-Loudon? Danbury?
