I see Wapak repeating as League champs Coach Rostofer has created the one program at Wapak year after year you can count on.

I would agree that Wapak has been consistently the best team in the WBL, and this year should be no different. Perhpaps the better questions this year is which teams may be able to challenge Wapak? Thoughts?

What does Wapak even have? I thought their program was going to be down a couple years. Bath and Defiance will be tough and do not forget Shawnee, they have some solid guys. What about junior high programs, is there going to be a dominant team this year or pretty equal?

Wapak will be good again this year! Martin,Valentine,Brown, and Hengstler will all be seniors this year! There were several underclassmen that got valuable experience last year so I think they will have good teams for a while! Their junior high team will have some studs on it as well!

It is quite a compliment to the Wapak team to be mentioned as the one and only WBL team. Sounds like they are stacked.

Does anyone know about the other WBL teams? Even if the other teams are all fighting for second they must have some decent wrestlers worth taking a look at.

I know that Shawnee has a fabulous freshman in Lucas that will surprise a ton of people in the WBL!!!

Any others have a chance at making it to Districts?
How does everyone see the WBL ending up 1-5?

Does anyone have any predictions to individual weight class champions?

Most teams should have assessed by now, and have a better idea of where wrestlers will end up. WBL duals will greatly be impacted by open weight classes. Any ideas of who has a full team? Those teams will have a leg up on the dual portion of the WBL. Wapak has the most "known" wrestlers; any ideas if they have a full line-up?

Bass_rat, as an FYI, the only way Lucas is going to surprise anyone is if he does not stand on the podium in Columbus. It is very hard in the modern wrestling world to sneak up on anyone; too many opportunities for great kids to compete on large stages and announce their arrival well before their freshman seasons.

From a district qualifier standpoint, the WBL will not have their usual sectional at Shawnee. All NW DII teams will be at Bowling Green in the new Stroh Center, with teams being seeded and split. Will that help or hinder WBL wrestlers in qualifying for districts?

I think Van Wert should have a decent team this year. Alot of seniors on the team, and under new head coach Ben Collins, they should bring a new intensity level not seen from VW in a long time.

Elida this year will not be very good at all. Just a couple of solid wrestlers and that is it. The middle school team on the other hand is pretty good and a lot of numbers too.
