I feel that this might be Ottoville’s year....earlier in the season I made a statement that Ottoville would make it to Cbus, but wouldn’t win it all.......that still may hold true, but their nemesis is no longer in their division.....although Minster is back to finally playing good basketball again.....they had a bump in the road earlier, but appear back on track!!!!!

Also.... Minster will really defend!!!

I hope the Lady Green gets it done because this will probably be the last time a PCL team has a shot at winning state. And I'm talking in every sport and not just basketball.

I agree, with more Christian School & private schools (Wellington (an example, I have relatives that go there, not religious) coming on to the scene in the D-4 areas. You are right on General.

Ya there will be some good basketball teams on the boys side in few years but not sure if it’s good enough to win state and other sports for example soccer has always seemed to be an impossibility to win state.
No object is mysterious. The mystery is your eye.

I don't know....sometimes people just think the smaller privates are really good because they tend to play weaker schedules (against a lot of other smaller privates) and have great records. Wellington boys lost to Johnstown Monroe....who got pounded by Harvest Prep. I'll take a team like the Ottoville girls......fundamentally sound, good coaching over an AAU team like Wellington or Africentric any day. People in SW Ohio were making a huge deal about a new team called Emmanuel Christian from Springfield..being the new "top private school" in D4 down there....and Russia beat them by 30 last week. The smaller privates can bring in one or two kids and be really good for a few years....then fade away for awhile. I think Stritch boys in Toledo are a good example. They got a couple kids and have had two good years by their standards...playing a horribly weak schedule.....and then can't get out of the District. Heck, even the big privates have down years. Moeller football was 4-6 this year. I'm not too worried about it....I think small town NW Ohio teams playing good fundamental basketball will always compete ok with the privates.

Soccer is a different animal. The private school soccer kids are 24/7 365 soccer kids....and they can put 11 true soccer kids on the field. NW Ohio teams have kids who spend their summers playing soccer, baseball and basketball....instead of soccer 24/7 It's not hard to figure out that a team with 3 or 4 great athletes who may be good soccer players will struggle with a team of kids who live, eat, breath soccer.

Ouch. That's pathetic. Crowds been awful so far? 3-5k for most games?

For years the OHSAA has put the attendance figures in their box scores and announced the attendance during the games.......they haven’t done this yet this year and I suppose this is a thing of the past......it looked like they had maybe 3-4 thousand at the games last night.....today’s Minster/Big Green game will be the largest by far....I would guess 5,000...,,,,even the Versailles game will struggle with the 49 fans that Africentric will pack in.... the boys Tourney will do slightly better but the days of 15-18,000 are looong gone due to the OHSAA’s mismanagement......
