Those are all good ones in my book, with the exception of the Goonies. On this great list, it appears to be the turd in the punch bowl, lol.
By the way, an interesting fact about the Searchers: Almost all of its actors eventually died of cancer as its film local was very close to a nuke test site. Oops.
Lep,
That's a Hollywood legend that's been around for years, and you have the right year ( 1956 ) but it wasn't The Searchers
in which most of the cast and directors later died of cancer after filming near a radioactive site in Utah, but the bomb ( pun intended)
called The Conqueror in which the Duke played the lead as Genghis Khan in one of the weirdest casting roles in Hollywood history.
The Searchers was indeed an excellent film and if you're looking for interesting facts about The Searchers, that's where Buddy Holly
got the inspiration for his #1 hit from the 50's called "That'll Be The Day". The Duke used that line throughout The Searchers and
Buddy Holly used it as the title for his first big hit in 1957.
