Former Waynesfield-Goshen standout athlete Joe Horn will be working-out for NFL scouts at Ohio State's pro day on March 11 in Columbus. Horn, who was the all-time leading WR at Ashland University in TDs (28), yardage (2681), and longest TD reception (96 yards - in '09 and '10) has been preparing for this opportunity at Ignition APG in Cincinnati. Horn has recently posted elite times in the short-shuttle (3.89) and 3-cone (6.49) and regularly posts low 4.4s in the 40 yard dash. At 5'11'2 and 193 pounds, Horn has prototypical slot-receiver size and speed. Horn has also held the AU kick-off return record, and had a 93-yard KO return in his last game, in which he scored 6 total TDs.
While at Ashland, Horn was an 8-time All American sprinter and holds numerous Eagle track and field records, including the freshman decathlon record. He graduated from AU in August with honors, with a degree in sports management (coaching minor). He was also named Academic All-American three times, was a Campbell Trophy (the "Academic Heisman" award) semi-finalist, and will be honored by the NE Ohio Chapter of the National Football Foundation with their graduate scholarship award on April 25.
