The buzz around is that Coach Rose has elected not to return this year. There is alot of talented kids running around the halls and hopefully they decide to play. The Rams have several key returners including Crawford, Hunsicker, Rofe, Howard(Zack and Austin), Evans, Hurley, Gullett, and Sheldon. Underclassmen that might get some playing time, Luhta, Risner, Rostorfer, and Williams. I don't know how the summer workouts are going but hopefully a majority of the upperclassmen that aren't in basketball are showing up. The schedule is another tough one this year, with Mohawk, Ada, Tinora, Ft. Loramie, Sidney Lehman, Troy Christian, all on the schedule. Fairbanks is out as they have elected to try greener pastures in another league.
The football program has come ALONG way since the cancled season and things are still improving. It has taken along time in re-building this program and it all starts with the midgets and Jr. High programs. Good Luck to the new coach with getting this program to the next level and start beating some teams we aren't supposed to beat........Go Rams

Haven't heard anything on this job being open yet. I'm sure if this is true it'll be reported on the local news sometime this week. That's too bad, I think USV is getting a lot better and has certainly improved and come a long way from their NWC days. With FL, and Lehman entering next year it should make it even tougher on the Rams. They should be the second or third best team in the league other that FL I would guess. Lehman is slightly down, and Troy Christian was horrible last season. Then with the loss of Fairbanks it really just gives the Rams Waynesfield and Lehman to battle out the second spot with I think. Obviously its only February and it's tough to make predictions but that's kind of how I see the league shaping up next season.

if this is true, im sorry to hear it...Rose and his staff are class-acts and gave it their all to get this program in a better state...now they need someone who can carry on this program and help make it even better...good luck to the Rams and hope they find someone who can keep the success going

I can assure that nearly every kid that is not playing basketball has been working out for football since the Monday after Thanksgiving. There has been an average of 12-15 kids lifting on Monday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. The boys have been very committed to taking the next step for the USV program.

Hopefully USV can get a coach and not some family member who thinks there a coach..Time for Usv to actually look for a coach other parents and family members.

I heard tonight that a couple USV teachers have applied (Asst. Coach Spencer) being one of them. I understand there may be some others applying who aren't a teacher there. Whoever takes this program over, I sure hope they are capable of keeping it going in the right direction. And I sure hope they select the most qualified individual!?!?!?!?

I have heard nothing more on this except that there have been many applications submitted, however most want teaching jobs. As far as I know there are no teaching jobs, and possibly some layoffs coming in April. This will probably narrow down the number. Not sure how many would like to coach here without a teaching job to go along with it.

Maybe with all the Ada success he might want to get his feet wet again.
