I know that both Miller and Vonder Embse have stats that are not as impressive as last year, but for one to say they are having a down year is absurd. Miller lost his entire Defense while Vonder Embse lost a couple defenders as well. In my opinion, the whole PCL is having a down year, not just certain players. The talent level from top to bottom is not as high as it has been in the past couple years when Kalida and Fort Jennings have routinely put teams into the regional tourney. I don't see any PCL team getting that far this year.

this year will come down to the player who helps his team the most not just about all the stats they have. Miller, Kloppel, Keck, Vonder Embs, Chandler, Miller. those are the players to look for.

Kloppel, Chandler, or Von Deremse is my top picks to take the Title.

I have watched Brandon Miller play in a few games. Even though he has a little temper problem, he is a canidate for the POY.

Has FJ and Ottoville played already?

like i said before. this year will not come down to stats it will be about who helps their "TEAM" the most. not who can score the most goals. im excited to see who it will be.

there is a difference between team play and hogging the glory. i have seen ottoville play. and all it is is long ball and have miller run and push his way through and score agianst teams with weak defences. has ottoville played a real strong team?

Their entire schedule is not very strong. Pcl teams are about as strong as they get.

Nathan Schmidt is a clear candidate for me
He is quick and good with the ball at his feet
If any player lets him get a quick step on them he is gone
If not for him continental would have lost a good two or three games
He is continentals difference maker and is my first choice as of now

Could someone please post the team overall and league records and stats for some of the top players in the league, if available? I'm an alumni from a PCL school and former player, but I've recently moved away from the area and have not been able to keep up with PCL sports as much as I would like. Thanks

Considering that Ben Miller lost his entire defense and then some, he is doing a superb job. That said, very rarely would I support a goalie being POY, because on the average a goalie touches the ball around 5-10 times a game, while a midfielder plays the ball every 5-10 touches.

Dr. Pirate, I agree, stats aren’t everything. Stats depend on the rest of the team. The goalies with the best stats have great defenses. Forwards with the most goals often have either other teammates who are also scoring threats or great assist men. But I disagree that POY should be the player most valuable to his team. POY is the best player in the league, regardless of the talent of the rest of the team, or whether the team wins the PCL. I also agree that the talent level from top to bottom this year is not as high as it has been in the past couple years. That is why there is not such a clear cut POY.

With that said, Nathan Schmidt or Troy Kloppel would have to be my choice. Both of them show good ball handling, crisp passing and quick decision making on the field.

I guess only time will tell.

Aaron Vonderembse also lost his entire defense and is in the same situation as Miller.

Yeah but all Kalida does is pack 9 guys in the box for almost the entire game and then hope to score a quick goal. Vonderembse all the Kalida goalkeepers in the past have been overrated. PCL player of the year will go to Brandon Miller or the Continental keeper.

game225 what is your logic behind saying that all past Kalida keepers have been overrated?

Whoa, whoa game225, back up here. Are you serious? Do you really think that all Kalida keepers have been overrated?
And what makes you think that they just pack guys in the box?
