Your thoughts on the game (ball control, missed opportunities, game play, etc) ?

Wow DISSENT what happened to your wildcats? congrats tho to Van Buren! As far as top teams in the county is concerned if ur talking about the league then im gonna have to say either Ottoville, Miller City, Continental or Kalida....either way i dont think the PCL is as strong as it used to be so any of them 4 could be on top...Ottoville had a great run last year but lost a lot last year, but returns quite a bit of young inexperienced talented freshman sopho and junior class...they already lost a few of their main players for the season due to injury and seem to have lost a few more for a couple games so just depends how healthy this team can be this year...could be a definant team to look out for next year tho! Kalida seems to have lost a lot as well from a team that they expected to go far but was knocked off by ottoville but seems to have a good team year and year out...Miller City and Conitental also seems to have some good young talent approaching so could be an interesting year...I expect the league winner to have a loss or at least have a 2-3 way tie for the league

Venom:

You are right, we aren't as strong as last year. Here is how I see the rest of the season:

Shawnee - we should tie them, I heard one of their best seniors didn't go out this year.
Fort Jennings - we will win, they are still rebuilding
Celina - we should win even, although they only lost by 1 to Findlay
Elida - we will win, they play unispired soccer
Temple Christian - we will win, in fact, we own them, especially at home
Miller City - we should win, as always, they will have trouble with our defense
Pettisville - we will win, even though they are better than last year
Pandora-Gilboa - we will win, enough said
Contintental - we will win, but they are looking good this year
Defiance - we will win, they are having a down year
Cory-Rawson - we will win, they can't matchup with us
Ottoville - we should tie, we are probably evenly matched
Bluffton - we will win, they are rebuilding this year.
Ottawa-Glandorf - we should tie them, but, whoever wins the bloodbath will win the game

So that puts us at 12 - 1 - 3 (75% win record). However, let's throw a couple ties into the loss column and say 12 - 3 - 1, still a 75% win record.

What do the rest of you Putnam County folks think? tongue.gif

Well DISSENT a lot of teams out there seem to have lost a lot or will lose a lot after this season so the D3 in soccer this year is definitely...The Temple game this year DISSENT i see u guys having a hard time with that one...as much as i would like to see u win that game i dont know if even ur defense cant hold them...the ottoville game i could see u tie that one...both teams lost a lot and have some young talent coming up so that should be a great game to watch as always...OG with them being in D3 this year should be interesting come that Sectional tournament...Ottoville tied them in an open field scrimmage (no officials) but both teams were banged up on injuries...i expect a lot of ties this year in D3...Also expect some upsets this year as well so im gonna say that Kalida will prolly end the season with a few more losses than what ur predicting and same with ottoville...i just dont think that D3 is that competitive this year so any team out there can come out top (even if ur Kalida Wildcats havnt played them yet DISSENT a team doesnt have to be a top dog if ur Wildcats havent played them yet lol)

Id say Kalida probally would be the best in the PCL . And i can see them possibly losing 2 or 3 more? Depending on how some of those close games turn out. And congrats to VB on the win vs them heard it was a hard fought game.

Kalida is certainly my pick for the PCL, but FJ or Ottoville could surprise them later so watch out. And if Kalida couldn't beat VB, they could very well lose more games this season.

Ottoville has been hit with some early season injuries. Schroeder kid out for the year is a major blow. 3 others nursing injuries. With the lack of depth already, Ottoville will be hard pressed to win the league.

It seems that Kalida is the team to beat then. Miller City and FJ take aim. And still Ottoville too if you have any firepower left when you play them boxing.gif

I thought Miller City and Continental looked very good in scrimmages. I think the PCL will go as follows
Miller City
Continental
Kalida
Ottoville
Ft. Jennings

Well guys, we took care of Shawnee (remember, I projected a tie). Next, Fort Jennings, no problem!

We still have to work on our scoring, we struggle to get 2 - 3 goals a night and that could lead to some problems in the long-run.

What gives most teams problems is when we flood the offense with attackers and grab a quick goal. We have sent 9 - 10 people all at once and it can be very difficult to stop. Scoring on us after that can be very difficult (yeah, yeah, I know, Van Buren beat us, I got that).

DISSENT I got to see the second half of the Shawnee game and I got to say that you are bragging this team up more than you should be right now. Yes they are a good team but far from being as great as you make them out to be. Unfortunately I was unable to see the first two games but from what I saw in the Shawnee game they will not have your predicted record if they play like they did in the second half. It was only the third game of the season, so its a little early to be putting them up on a pedestal already. Also, I assume you played soccer at Kalida so you should know that anything can happen when two PC teams get together. Take the 2003 season for example when Kalida had a great team and was knocked out in their first game by Ottoville. The game I am looking forward to seeing is the TC game. That game should fun to watch before going up to Pioneer Days!

well said k-town....DISSENT do we need to remind you of what happened last season? IMHO i dont see ur team being as dominant as u put...ya u lost Van Buren who i think didnt impress me as much as i was suppose to be impressed...ya i seen that they got a few good athletes on that team, but Division 3 this year like i said before is down, esp the PCL i mean they r some good teams out there but i could possibly see that this being the year that any of the top 5 county teams could win the league unlike last couple years when u had Kalida or Ottoville being the favorites, cuz its a whole new story this year....plus DISSENT u never know with FJ i mean they did beat Bluffton which im shocked but then gets spaked by OG so who knows what FJ team shows up...but when it comes to the sectional tournament, id look at seeing either OG or Ottoville coming out of that before Kalida...ya defense can win championships if u can rely on ur offense to score, but the problem with Kalida is they got a good defense just seem to struggle to score offensively...from what i heard Ottoville has got some really good talent offensively but r just not experienced enough and r at least a year from making a loooong tournament run so they could be a sleeper in the PCL this year if teams over look them...altho the injuries r not helping them lol....good luck to ur Wild Cats tho DISSENT but just some advice do be careful what u say this year lol

Watched the OG-FJ game.....unless the officials allow FJ to hang on to the opponents jersey the entire game, they're not going to beat many good teams.....lucky for them, they were allowed to do it about half the time against OG or that score would have been much worse. One of the ugliest HS games I've seen, FJ gets 2 red cards and a yellow card on their goalie. Some really cheap shots thrown around by the FJ kids....almost to the point of what I would consider to be "dirty". I guess if you can't beat 'em, grab 'em......lol

Comrade Venom:

All is well. The season is progressing just fine, we are getting better, but we still have some weaknesses

(NEWS BREAK: Van Buren beat Kalida)

but we are working on those.

So, with my predictions on the line, who does the rest of this population think is going to beat us? OG? Give me score predictions...

More importantly, tell me why they will beat us... coffee.gif
