Would not want to be the next coach at Anna. Tough act following the success of the coach who just retired.

I think two of their better players were a sophomore and freshman, sisters. I imagine they'll still be prettyg good.

Success-wise, yes. Billings was about the biggest a-hole around though.

I see Mohawk is open. Anybody know what happened with their coach? He seemed to have some good teams/records and good participation - I think they had a freshman team. Is Cory really open? They seemed to be improving under their coach.

Apparently Mohawk has a dysfunctional school board. Either that, or they have three vindictive, self-interested Board members who do not understand the role of a school board as specified by Ohio revised code. The Board non-renewed their volleyball coach despite his 23-2 record last year in which they won the MAL championship and he took them to state. Apparently two board members had daughters that played on the JV team (one as a junior) and they voted against the renewal as recommended by their superintendent, their athletic director, and their principal. Articles detailing the entire ugly mess can be found online from the Tiffin newspaper.

Seems a little late for this decision, is there any issues?

No one on here has said anything. But it seems like they have new head coaches in most all their sports over the last two years.

It did appear the talent pool was getting thin there, maybe just good timing to get out.

Talent is better than results.

Not really, he announced it in early Feb. It just took the press sometime to get ahold of it I guess.

The Ft. jennings girls head varsity position is now open. I would expect last season's JV coach, William Calvelage, to be a strong possibility to take it over. He seems like a good guy, knows the game and has paid his dues coaching through the system from the Jr. High up to the JV last season.
