[Rocketcorner News]

Now it's time for the Halloween edition of the Rocketcorner Know It Alls. Our picks are scary good. They are frightfully accurate and terrifyingly long winded. Every single pick is made with the utmost of care. Past results are weighed. Stats are indepthly studied. Some even use complicated formulas and computer programs to spit out winners........Eh, who am I kidding? Most of us use a dart board or eeny meeny miny moe. My personal favorite way is having my wife pick according to which mascot she likes better or the school colors.

Well to get to the point, we enjoy giving you our picks to laugh at and talk about at the water cooler. So without further adoo, I bring you WEEK 10.

Whitmer over Lima Senior – Just a hunch but I think Whitmer finishes the season with a win.

Clyde over Huron – We’ll see how if I banked correctly on Clyde’s early season win over Bellevue.

Wauseon over Patrick Henry – With two weeks between games PH will be either rusty or well prepared, we’ll find out which Friday night.

Galion over Upper Sandusky – Taking the Tigers at home to win a share of the NCC title.

Liberty Benton over Arlington – L-B not giving a share of the BVC title to anyone.

Archbold over Liberty Center – Bluestreaks get it done.

LCC over Ada – Bulldogs burned me last week, they may burn me this week too.

Fremont St Joe over Mohawk – Both teams have a lot to play for this week. Should be a dandy.

Calvert over Hopewell Loudon – Expect a shootout in this one.

Delphos St Johns over Minster – Blue Jays backs are against the wall. They’ll take care of a tough Minster team.

8-1 Galion................Upper stumbled last week.....this week the Rams fall off the mountain
8-0 Liberty Benton....Devil with the blue dress, devil with the blue dress on........
6-3 Liberty Center......sorry Archbold, but I gotta pick LC in an upset
7-2 LCC...................is this the last hurrah (or should I say last %#@**^@#+ out of Coach Cooper)
6-3 Fremont St Joe....I always like any team with the word "Saint" in them.....especially since Friday is All Saints Day!
5-4 Calvert................the Chieftains would like nothing more than to spoil any chance Calvert has in playing in week 11
5-4 DSJ...................ditto on the "Saints", but I also just think the 'Jays are better

Whitmer... The winner of this likely makes the playoffs in their region while the winner is out. I really want to pick LS but I think Whitmer outscores them for the win

Clyde... This game is all about playoff positioning. Clyde has already clinched a berth. A win likely allows them the #2 seed to avoid Toledo Central Catholic until week 13

Wauseon... I think Wauseon goes on the road and wins at PH, sending PH home for week 11

Galion... Upper Sandusky needs this win for the playoffs but I think Galion gets it done at home in a close game

Liberty-Benton... This one is also all about seedings. L-B wins to cap off a 9-0 season that would've been 10-0 if not for a cancelled game

Liberty Center... Both teams still have an outside shot at the playoffs. LC wins on the road then prays for help

Lima Central Catholic... Both teams are hovering around the #6 seed in their region but the winner should move up. This game is Saturday night so a lot will be on the line

Fremont St. Joseph... Mohawk was the hottest team in NW Ohio in the past month before Calvert smacked them around last week. I think SJCC wins on senior night to solidify a home game in week 11

Calvert... TC might indeed be the hottest team with an average record around here. They win here as well to get a home playoff game next week too

Delphos St. John's... DSJ likely makes the playoffs with a win here and I think they get it


Jordan Strack-WTOL Toledo 11

WHITMER- They've been in these huge games...Lima Senior hasn't. Must win for both.

CLYDE-they'll host with a win. I think the Fliers get it done.

WAUSEON-both need it...but it would be a huge disappointment if they didn't get in the playoffs after this amazing regular season.

GALION-Almost a play in game for D-IV, Region 12. I'm taking the Tigers.

LIBERTY BENTON-they've already clinched but a win means a host game. Arlington should be in no matter what.

ARCHBOLD-they're much better than their record shows. They could keep LC out of the playoffs.

ADA-they're already in...LCC can clinch with a win. Should be a dandy.

FSJ-Coin flip for me. Mohawk needs this game way more than FSJ.

CALVERT-they're in with a win & I can't picture them not being in the postseason.

DSJ-they need a win & help. They've won 3 straight to keep hope alive. Think they'll make it 4 straight.

5-4 Whitmer @ 5-4 Lima Senior - I thought Whitmer would have a better record, while Lima Senior has been a nice surprise. I think Whitmer ends the year with a "W."

8-1 Clyde @ 7-2 Huron - Big computer points on the line this one, I'll take Clyde to get its ninth victory.

8-1 Wauseon @ 6-2 Patrick Henry - Wauseon is 7th in its region, Patrick Henry is 9th in its region. Both need a win, and I'll take PH in a mild upset.

7-2 Upper Sandusky @ 8-1 Galion - Again, talk about computer points. Combined these teams three losses are by THREE POINTS, are you kidding me? I'll take Upper Sandusky in a slugfest.

7-2 Arlington @ 8-0 Liberty Benton - Arlington will keep it close for a while, but Liberty-Benton is going to finish undefeated.

6-3 Liberty Center @ 6-3 Archbold - A great NWOAL rivalry for sure, unfortunately for Archbold it doesn't look like the playoffs are a possibility. LC has a shot with a win, and I think the Tigers play desperate enough to get the win.

7-2 Ada @ 7-2 LCC - Ada is coming off a big win, while LCC has found its stride late. I'll take Ada to carry its momentum from last week into the playoffs with a victory.

4-5 Mohawk @ 6-3 Fremont St Joe - Mohawk is fighting for its playoff life on Friday, but Fremont St. Joe will carry the day and get the win.

5-4 Calvert @ 5-4 Hopewell Loudon - I think both of these teams thought their seasons would include more wins, but Calvert is still in the playoff conversation. That might change when Hopewell-Loudon gets the victory on Friday.

6-3 Minster @ 5-4 Delphos St Johns - Everyone in Region 24 is praying that Minster gets this win, because of St. John's gets in, they will be the favorite in that region. Delphos St. John's needs this win and it finds a way to get it done.


Kevin Oberhaus-Rocketcorner News

Think I might go out on some limbs to get back in this fight. I did last week but it backfired. Was looking brilliant in the first halves but everything went wildly wrong after half.

Lima Senior....Home game for the Spartans and they go out with a bang. Hopefully this win will get them in the playoffs.

Clyde....Tough pick here. Both lost to Perkins but Huron actually played them closer but I just can't pick against the Fliers this week.

PH....No way I can pick against my Patriots. The Wauseon offense plays right into the strength of the PH D. I think it will be a battle with the Pats controlling Bueter enough to get into the playoffs...then watch out!!

Upper...The Rams have had a couple heartbreaking losses as did Galion. I think the Rams will squeak this one out in hope for a playoff birth.

LB.....I know I said I was gonna go on some limbs this week but I just can't here. Arlington has played average at best in their toughest games. Average against LB just won't cut it.

LC....Tigers running game controls the clock and the D stops Archbold enough to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. Archbold only really has pride to play for.

Ada....After the huge W last week the Bulldogs are on a high. I think Ada's offense can put up numbers on LCC. Hoping to pick up a game here.

Mohawk....Everytime I have picked the Sycamores I have been right. They bounce back from the Calvert loss and get a W moving them into the playoffs. SJCC is already in.

Calvert....The Senecas continue to roll and look like a dangerous playoff team. The Carey loss deflated HL and killed any playoff hopes...they have nothing to play for.

Minster....The Wildcats put the Blue Jays playoff hopes to rest. Not confident on this pick but I have a feeling I may gain a game if Minster wins.

5-4 Whitmer @ 5-4 Lima Senior Whitmer - great season for Sr., but Whitmer is too much

8-1 Clyde @ 7-2 Huron Clyde - solidfies their standing

8-1 Wauseon @ 6-2 Patrick Henry PH - what a game, week off for PH gets them healthy. Suntken not fully healthy for the Indians.

7-2 Upper Sandusky @ 8-1 Galion Upper - pick em for me.

7-2 Arlington @ 8-0 Liberty Benton LB - Devils needed to play on Halloween to get this one. Eagles win.

6-3 Liberty Center @ 6-3 Archbold LC - close all the way, but LC needs this to have a post season chance.

7-2 Ada @ 7-2 LCC Ada - they can pick up the big win this year.

4-5 Mohawk @ 6-3 Fremont St Joe Mohawk - another pick em.

5-4 Calvert @ 5-4 Hopewell Loudon Calvert - close one in the end.

6-3 Minster @ 5-4 Delphos St Johns Minster - delivers the blow here.

5-4 Whitmer @ 5-4 Lima Senior - Whitmer sneaks in the playoffs with a win here. However, Lima Senior has nothing to be ashamed of on a great season from them.

8-1 Clyde @ 7-2 Huron - Clyde will best Huron here, but both teams will still make the postseason. Clyde trying to hold onto home-field adv.

8-1 Wauseon @ 6-2 Patrick Henry - Neither team has clinched a playoff spot yet, but both control their own destiny. I wouldn't dare go against PH at home, right? WRONG ..I'm doing it and I have no idea why!

7-2 Upper Sandusky @ 8-1 Galion - Upper started the year so strong and found ways to pull-out close games. However, that hasn't been the case of late and I'm taking Galion by a few scores. Galion will march on to the playoffs as the Rams head home for the year.

7-2 Arlington @ 8-0 Liberty Benton - Arlington continues to falter here in the last portion of their schedule. LB is just too good.

6-3 Liberty Center @ 6-3 Archbold - LC is fighting for their playoff lives right now and will get a win here. However, they will need a little help to get in.

7-2 Ada @ 7-2 LCC - Ada picked up a HUGE win last week, and they'll get another one this week.

4-5 Mohawk @ 6-3 Fremont St Joe - Mohawk needs this one badly. I see Mohawk going on the road, taking this game and sneaking into the playoffs as an 8 seed over DSJ.

5-4 Calvert @ 5-4 Hopewell Loudon - Calvert is playing out of their minds right now. Defensively, they're hitting on all cylinders and offensively (JR) Long, (SR) Ball, and (Soph) Recker make a great tandem on the ground. Senecas take down the Chieftans.

6-3 Minster @ 5-4 Delphos St Johns - Both of these teams need wins in their respective regions to get in the playoffs. I'm taking Minster on the road.

PH needs a win to get in as they are on the outside looking in really pulling for them, but I think Wauseon puts the pH season to an end.

7-2 Upper Sandusky @ 8-1 Galion
Galion comes in with just as much at stake. If Upper wins, they clinch a share the NCC and more importantly, cinch a playoff berth. Upper with more to play for, they go into Galion and get a win

7-2 Arlington @ 8-0 Liberty Benton
LB going to have to stop the running game of Arlington, the Eagles are a tough stop also, they get the W to go undefeated.

6-3 Liberty Center @ 6-3 Archbold
Teams are equal in nearly every category. But I will go with the home team to get the W

7-2 Ada @ 7-2 LCC
LCC always seems to win the big game, this is a big one for them.

4-5 Mohawk @ 6-3 Fremont St Joe
Mohawk wins and they are most likely in, but St Joe gonna be a tough one to get by. Im taking ST. JOe

5-4 Calvert @ 5-4 Hopewell Loudon
Teams playing to finish at .500 going to go with Calvert to get it done

6-3 Minster @ 5-4 Delphos St Johns
Both teams need a win to get in DSJ is a lot like LCC when they need a win they seem to find a way to get it; they do again this week
