Congrats to the Blue Dogs for their first trip to the Schott. Don't let Dunbar's reputation scare you, as you do have athleticism to defend them. Actually, offensively I'd have to say this is Coach Lehman's best job ever strictly as far as improvement during the season. The Dogs are not even close to the same team offensively that the Orange Dogs saw down at the Elida Fieldhouse earlier in December. Yes, he's had some better offensive teams, like even the Tinora one that had the Harris kid, but this squad is buying in to what he's teaching them offensively, & you can definitely see the improvement. Good luck at the Schott, and most of all, enjoy the ride & the experience. Truly everyone in WBL & NW Ohio will be rooting for you!

Anyone know how this Dunbar team compares to the one Elida played in the state final a few years ago?

I was listening to the game yesterday and they mentioned that Defiance scrimmaged Dunbar this year and held their own with them.

Considering how much the team has improved just since midseason, I'm excited for what should hopefully be a great game on Friday.

That team was bigger and more skilled than this one imo.
This team is beatable, but the are fast and appear to be pretty deep.
I'll take Dunbar 10+

I have seen both teams play. Defiance can play, compete, and win...they have the speed at guard, the size, and the athleticism. Dunbar will want a track meet...Defiance can run with them...controlled running will be the big thing...Defiance will want to control that part of the game...Dunbar wants a rat type up and down game...they can play in the 1/2 court though if need be...this really could have been a state championship game...both teams are that good! Will be a great game in Columbus!!!

There is ZERO chance of Defiance trying to run with Dunbar......Defiance has a chance, but not in a track meet...

Agree. It's gonna have to be the tough, physical, ugly 48-43 type that got them this far. It's not that I don't think they have some athletes(I think the Singletons could succeed in almost any system), but there just isn't enough depth to run with a team who wants to play that way.

Can I assume Coach Lehmen scheduled Dunbar as a scrimmage for a reason?? Much like the Lima Senior game, have your kids play against athletes you're likely to face if you want to take that next step as a program.

I didn't say they would be in a track meet...I will say that Defiance can control the style of play...their guards can handle the ball and are quick, and play physical. I think it is going to be a pretty fun game to watch! It could come down to last second shot...game just like Franklin game...

I think I mentioned "controlled running"...Defiance can't get into a rat game with Dunbar, but they can go up and down with them...they just need to control the running game to their favor.

This is a bad matchup for Defiance. It will be similar to the Lima game.

Control the tempo, shoot great, and don't let DD PG break ur defense down. Defiance has to play a great game to win but they can. I would pack it in and make DD prove they can beat me from the outside. Happy for Coach KL. Great coach and guy.

Dunbar should be disqualified for being named the Wolverines.

I gave Defiance a 25% chance of winning and they came form behind to pull it out. Amazing win. Congrats to them!
