Intersted to hear everyone's take on what is likely to be the most competitive district in our area...regardless of division. Here's how it stands after this past weekend.

Hickville 14-1
Ottoville 13-4
WT 12-3
Ayersville 12-3
Crestview 12-3
FJ 12-4
Lincolnview 10-5
DSJ 9-5
Parkway 7-8
Antwerp 6-7
Continental 1-14

I would say it's safe to say that 9, 10, 11 will be Parkway, Antwerp, Continental respectively. But where do the top 6 fall? Does Hicksvilles 14-1 get respect? Where is Ottoville going to go with beating Crestview and FJ early but losing to FJ recently. WT has a BRUTAL stretch coming up with Ayersville, Kalida, Hickville, Crestview all coming before the draw itself. Ayersville has been playing well winning 7 in a row. Crestview is playing MUCH better now compared to the start of the season. FJ is 3-1 against teams with 12+ wins in their district. Seeding could be surprising.

Crestview is the best team in this ultra competitive district in my opinion. I wouldn’t overlook a MAC tested DSJ either. Crestview plays at Hicksville this Saturday. The Aces are athletic but they’ve feasted on a lot of bad BBC type of competition. Saturday is a huge measuring stick for them. Ottoville and FJ and WT and Ayersville all tough also. Just feels like Crestview has the pieces and the D and great coaching. Should be fun!

Also do not count out the Lincolnview Lancers! They have a big game with Crestview this Friday at home along with a road game at Delphos St John’s on Saturday, and they have a victory over Wayne Trace.

Upon studying this district further I think Crestview is the team to beat.....I am always leery about the teams up north as their schedules are very weak and I don’t remember the last time a team from that far NW quadrant advancing to state....so I don’t think Hicksville makes it out...same applies to Ayersville...Parkway, Continental and Antwerp will be one and done..... so that leaves the others to challenge Crestview.....this is where coaching enters the equation and I think Wayne Trace and DSJ come into play....both have excellent coaches who have seen it all...both teams play great defense although the Jays offense at times does not show up....but defense will keep you in games.......that leaves Ottoville, FJ, and L’view.... any of those 3 teams could advance, but as a betting man, I don’t see it!!!!!

I'm waiting to see Lincolnview play before I make a decision on this district. Right now I lean to the knights with their size and ability to score vs zone or man

Crestview isn't the same team they were a month or more ago.

The scoring balance has been key and they have legit 6 players who can drop 15 on you on any given night.
They have the best team defense to go along with the scoring balance.

I will be surprised if Crestview doesn't win both games this weekend as well (Lincolnview and Hicksville).

I like FJ and Ottoville chances more so than DSJ and Wayne Trace. Don’t underestimate younger inexperienced coaches.

I agree with a lot of what flounder said. I do think Crestview will be the team to beat. I think they have all the characteristics that make for a balanced team and I do believe they'll be hard to knock off. I second the notion of the teams to the Northwest playing a questionable schedule. I'm not as concerned with coaching as flounder is. But I am concerned with the lack of tournament experience of the Ottoville & FJ players. They have quality teams but have not been in those winnable situations in a sectional final. I will narrow the field a little though. These are the teams I really think can make a run to Elida in alphabetical order: Crestvew, Delphos St. Johns, Fort Jennings, Hicksville, Ottoville, Wayne Trace. I'm down to 6. I'll make my final selections after tournament draw.

I️ will put Crestview as the favorite but a weak favorite. They could be beaten by the next level of teams St. John’s, Ottoville, Fort Jennings, or Wayne Trace. I️ would put Lincolnview and Hicksville one notch below. Like warrior, we will know more after the draw. Assuming they get the bye, Crestview should have an easy road though.

Warrior.....

You bring up a very good point about FJ and Ottoville’s players experience....I don’t think any have experienced the Elida Field House experience at the district level.....it can be intimidating and that is why I included the coaching factor.....after the draw things will be easier to figure out!!!!!

Just some giant games for these district teams tonight. Lincolnview and Crestview tonight, St John’s and St Henry tonight, Ayersville and Wayne Trace tonight, Ottoville and Kalida tonight, Lincolnview and DSJ tomorrow, Hicksville and Crestview tomorrow, WT and Kalida tomorrow. I think FJ and Miller City tonight too? Wow

I may catch heat for this but what about the liberty benton district? Pandora-Gilboa , Kalida , Miller City. This district is starting to get interesting as well. May not be as good but still something to mention.
