Summit vs. Archbold in the Finals. Kind of surprised the other two made it.

Summit wins 2-1.

Cincy Summit is going for its 4th title overall and 3rd in 4 years. Won it in 2012, 2013 before losing in Final 4 last year.

I see Archbold gliding into the Finals & giving Summit a scrap. As Fisher pointed out on another thread, this team has been FLYING since stumbling a bit in their 1st two games. Since then, they've been nearly impossible to score on, they're a BIG, skilled team that can possess & get you stretched out across midfield, a few of these kids are club players from Toledo & the rest are all travel kids, they have strong play play on both wings, several goal outlets...and GREAT goalkeeping. He's an actual goalkeeper, not an athlete in gloves like many D3 teams are forced to resort to. I bring this up as one of my best friends, Ted Wenger, took an efficient Findlay, that scored goals at the right times, almost single-handedly to the State finals on the back of his lights out goalkeeping. You can ride a strong team with outstanding goalkeeping & in the case of Summit, clearly the best team in D3 Statewide, that can be a confounding element of you can't beat a kid who feels unstoppable.

Side note...this Archibold team won't be an anomaly. They have a fantastic youth set up with strong coaching that will keep producing these types of teams for years.

This Summit team is the best D3 team I've seen in years. But that is why we play the game..

Gview...notice I said "give Summit a scrap." I can't believe they didn't make the Finals last year let alone win it all. Obviously, I'll still root for our NWO brethern (and friend Coach Stewart). I'll try look you up on Saturday Formercoach.

I wasn't knocking Archibold, I hope they make a game of it, we weren't able to do that. I was just stating that I have not seen a D3 team as good as Summit in quite sometime.

Not real happy with the time change. Had my 2005 boys ready for 10 year recognition then OHSAA changed it to 3:30 game (D2). So I'll do interview, watch D1 game, eat, then return to my cave.

So you won't be there for the 2005 recognition? Unger will stand in for you. :)
