Confirmed Shawn Allen is out. It was on Todd Walker's and Tom Usher's twitter page. Says Allen didnt want to leave but was forces out. Allen very public about wanting to coach somewhere next year.
Of course it is official!! It has been on the RC
for weeks...I guess the AD finally let Usher
and Walker in on it....the "real media" bringing
It to you 2 weeks after it was announced here..

Good luck to Coach Allen. I always hate to see this happen...even though the writing was on the wall.
I've missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I've lost almost 300 games. 26 times, I've been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I've failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed.

We will start a new thread that will champion all the potential candidates for the opening
at Lima Sr.....while probably not as interesting, the "A" list is sure to contain some
names that for sure will ignite some great discussion......Go Sparty!

Not having a dog in the fight, but a fan of basketball, this is possible the most important hire in the history of Lima Senior. This school has been on the ropes as far as having a perennial winner for a long time. Bringing in Mike Fell in to revitalize the football and having early success with it also led to this decision. It is tough enough to coach in the TRAC playing against some of the great teams that are constantly producing winning teams like Whitmer, Toledo St. John, Toledo Central Catholic and Findlay. However it is also tough enough to play these teams when also a team which has some of the players whose fathers played at Lima Senior is crosstown and going to state to try to win a title. My thinking is that there are a few people that are the movers and shakers at Lima Senior are privately seething about the sucess of LCC and want that to stop, and that they want to hire a coach that has some "piss and vinegar" as far as passion to make Lima Senior relevant in high school basketball. The fannies are not in the seats at Lima Senior and that has to be in the thought process of the athletic department also. Irregardless this will be a search that will involve trying to find the best person for this revitalization of Lima Senior basketball. I guarantee you that they will find their man come hell or high water.

Not only is this a huge hire for Lima Senior, you can bet the folks over on Cable Rd are paying real close attention. The right hire by the Spartans could have long term effects on the Birds.

Nobody said transferring back would be right or anything like that they just stated if Quincey got the job A LOT would come back to Lima Senior proving that kids did not transfer to LCC for academic reasons like most people said.
Thank you, dw

You people amaze me. If a parents wants to transfer a student from an area school to LCC to play sports you all jump on said student putting them down, trash talking and accusing LCC of recruiting.
Yet You guys think a student should be encouraged to leave and go back to Lima Sr just because of a coach??? Just saying.....but isn't that against all your "standards"?

Osu,
In a previous thread I stated that by looking at the times and dates that mysteryman posted I thought that he could be one of the LCC players on this years team. I really don't care where they play. My problem is when someone says"it's not about the game of basketball, it's about the game of life" and it apparently only applies to one kid. This will make a lot of people mad, and I'm sure I'll hear about it but you can't convince me that if Quincey was still coaching in the Lima Senior program a lot of the kids at LCC would not be there. Again, I don't care where they play, I just want someone from LCC to take an unbiased look at the situation and honestly tell me I'm wrong.

^^^^^ agreeeeed Viking. If Simpson got the job on the previous hiring- no way some of those boys would be wearing light blue and red. Maybe thats why thet went with the grey uni's... so they get everyone happy... grey and red (LSH) plus a splash of light blue equals LCC.

Will everyone please take a minute to pat Rocketman on the back, tell him he's a good boy, buy him an extra ice cream cone, give him a gold star and a crown from Burger King so he can have some self esteem. The poor guy's begging for attention.
