What can the NBA do to get guys like Kobe and LeBron back in the dunk contest? I really thought last year when LeBron said he would be in it and gave guys crap for not getting in it, he would be there this year. I think the reason he is not in it, because he wants the money this coming off season, and what he blew a knew out in a dunk contest, he would lose alot of money. The NBA just doesnt pay enough for big time players to do this in fear of injury, which, for many years, Clyde the Glide, MJ, good players were in this event, which is what made it.

What's there left to do?
It has gotten to the point of being too gimmicky and much like a corny game of horse.
To pull off some of these dunks you really risk injury. I don't blame any of them for not being in it.
Dunk contests wear you out physically. I was in one vs Jeffrey Massey and it only lasted 5 rounds and I was spent.

LeBron isn't a fancy dunker. He is a power dunker and would probably not win the contest. Also if he got hurt the Cavs would be done.

I disagree with ya Hayes, with his ability, if he wanted to, he could do stuff we have never seen.

I'm a huge LeBron fan but I see him having about the same type of success as Dwight Howard. The bigger guys just don't look like the smaller guys.

Raise the basket for the bigger guys! Let them get some air like the smaller guys! However, the risk of injury is just too much for the 'big time' PTPers.....
