I bet $140,000 would even have Slice considering it!

An Australian couple selling their multi-million-dollar home had a tough decision to make when the buyer refused to close the deal unless he could also have their cat, Tiffany. The Perceval family agreed to the proposal in exchange for an extra $140,000, news.com.au reported. They don't seem to have any regrets.

The exchange started as a joke, after the potential buyer's child "fell in love" with Tiffany during a walkthrough of the house. Fran Perceval said the family would be willing to sell the cat, who she described as "ornamental," because Tiffany already "believes the house is her property."

The man bidding on their 5-bedroom, $2.2 million house decided to take her seriously.

"The buyer wouldn't sign the contract unless he got the cat, so as far as I'm concerned, he can have the cat," said the family's real-estate agent, who was not required to give up any beloved pets as part of the deal.

The Percevals are still working things out with their 19-year-old son, Sam, who bought Tiffany at a pet shop. "She was ... the last of the litter, and he felt sorry for her," Fran told news.com.au.

"We're thinking we'll put $20,000 in a pile next to the cat and say to Sam: you choose," said the mom, who seemed delighted as she told reporters Tiffany is "the most expensive cat in Australia."

Sure, Tiffany will continue living in a familiar house and have a new family to take care of her, but laughing about the sweet deal you got for your son's cherished pet just seems like rubbing it in.

The Percevals say they're considering adopting a new cat after they move. They also have two dogs, two rabbits, and fish. They haven't said how much money they would accept in exchange for those pets.

ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTEY NOT!!!!!!

Would you give up your kid for any amount of money?!?!
I've actually had this REAL conversation 'cause financially family's worried 'bout my circumstances and could definitely use the extra $200+/month here it takes to feed my outside cats and two large dogs, but they're my "babies". (Just recently lost my last bird, so a bit less)
If it'd come to where I couldn't feed them, buy tags, I immunize, etc, well, I guess I'd have to; but I wouldn't eat before that happened.
I love my pets like my child and they're not readily transferable... Even for $140,000.

Btw, I hope those ppl NEVER get another pet in their lives! Ugh! Despicable!

Sorry Slice. I guess that makes me dispicable. Although I've had pets and loved them, I would easily sell them for $140,000. (assuming that the person I was selling them to meant them no harm.) If they meant to harm them, I would need $200,000. (Lol. Just kidding).

Just curious, how much could I fetch one of your kids for? How 'bout your boy?

Yeah, I grew up in a rural setting. One dog, always a Beagle. (when one died, get another Beagle). At one time we had like 20 outside cats. They were all named "Cat". In those poor times as a kid, I would have sold them for about $10.00 apiece

Love my dogs. I really do. But Barky is ruining my carpet and Sheddy just clogged up my Dyson. Again. (Not their real names but that's what the kids started calling them. It fits.)

Give me a few grand for Barky McPissalot. It'll take a little more for Sheddy. I love them but they are just dogs to me. They have a special spot in our family but they don't compare to being as special to me as my children. Not remotely close.
For $140,000? They can have both dogs, the carpet steamer, the clogged Dyson, and the barking collar. And my Buick. I love that car a lot but so do the dogs so they can have it. I would miss them but I think driving with the top down in my new Camaro would help take my mind off things for a while. And the kids having a good chunk of change for college seems like a fair trade as well.

Mo, I think for $140,000, I would steal other people's dogs and sell them.

I thought we might have a deal until you threw the wife into the mix. No thanks.

A few thousand and you have to keep the wife?

I talked to her the other day. Something about money actually. I was no help.
