3's and missed bunnies. That was the theme thru 3 quarters of tonights matchup between SLL members Elmwood and Gibsonburg.

Amidst heavy pressure from the Royal defense, Gibsonburg shot 9-16 from the 3 point line in the first 3 quarters. This display of shooting kept the Golden Bears in this contest. It also didn't hurt that Elmwood shot just 21-50 thru 3, including many many missed "bunnies".

Despite the contrast in styles, the game was back and forth most of the night. Elmwood held a narrow 22-21 lead after 1 and the game was tied at 41 going into the break.

The Golden Bears shot 50% from behind the Arc in the first half with Sr Lee Renner hitting 3 and Jr Jeremy Helmke popping in 4. Renner paced Gibsonburg with 16 and Helmke had 12.

Jr Jay Hannah led Elmwood with 13 at the break and Sr Adam Tyson added 10.

The teams continued to trade the lead in the 3rd with the Royals grabbing a 57-55 lead heading into the 4th quarter.

That's where the game turned. Elmwood started hitting its easy buckets and the Golden Bear shooters went cold. Elmwood shot 8-11 in the 4th including a perfect 6-6 from the FT line while Gibsonburg shot just 4-12 with no 3's.

Final score. Elmwood 79 Gibsonburg 64.

Hannah finished with 24 points for the Royals. Tyson added 18 and Jr Jack Waldock 12.

Renner tallied 22 points for the Bears. So. Gage Beaber chipped in 15 while Helmke finished with just the 12 points.

Elmwood won the turnover battle committing just 15 to Gibsonburg's 20.
