Cleveland Heights Lutheran East has 5 transfers this year. They are a D4 school. I hear 3 of them are D1 college quality players. Think they may have been recruited? Just seems OHSAA picked Lima Sr. to make a point while letting others get away with stuff.

3 of the transfers had to sit 11 games, 2 did not......yet the 1 boy from Puerto Rico has to sit a whole season and one gets to play half the season, but no tournament. talk about schools playing by two different sets of rules!

Also, I wonder how many of Wellington's players paid the full tuition?

Von I call BS.

I don't know anything about Wellington school. But I have been to the state Bball tourny for some time. That team Wellington brought to the schot last year was not a traditional home grown school team. Someone is bringing in players for them. I doubt the kids are showing up with 25k just to play basketball. Your also telling us 2 new players showed up this year with 25k and sat out half the regular season games. Just to get out of the public school system. Sorry I'm not buying it.

It certainly doesn't pass the smell test. It just sickens me to see large city private, or controlled enrollment public schools (Africentric) playing in D4, or D3 for that matter.

It looks like all four teams in D IV this year have the recruiting issue down pat. The OHSAA has for years ignored this problem. It's way too late to get the cows back into the barn. And as long as representative Matt Huffman and his cronies push the voucher system it will only get worse

Rocketman : nice generalized statement. I know every boy on the DSJ team and they have been there living in their Delphos homes since they were little. I also know many of the boys on the Perry team and do not see or know of any funny stuff with their program. The Lutheran East coach was on Koza this morning and tried to justify his position of having so many NEW players who had to sit out the first half of the season. A laughable attempt. My Jays know what is waiting but we are not using that as an excuse and will play hard as a team that has been together for the long run. Make fun of the other 2 schools while we support and show our pride in homegrown talent at DSJ and Perry.

It's amazing to me that he keeps up this "I'm for everyone" charade yet he continues to push for legislation that benefits his alma matter over the other 20+ schools (95% public) in his area. It's hard for me to believe that the people voting for him even know he has a very obvious agenda to promote private schools...if they did, I'd be shocked to see him keep being re-elected.

Don't be shy RM, tell us how ALL four teams have "the recruiting issue down pat."

Didn't realize Perry was a private school. Who were the recruits on DSJ and Perry's team this year?

It doesn't have to happen every year Bobby......it has in the past for sure at both of these quasi private/vouchers.

For sure? Tell me more, tell me more. Was it last year when the Blue Jays went 9-14?

Perry is a public school, how would someone use a voucher to go to Lima Perry? I know they used to advertise for open enrollment, but to my knowledge, no athletes have ever left another Allen County school to go to Perry for athletics. Part of the reason Perry invites open enrollees is because there is money tied to open enrolled students and they probably need the $ to pay the bills.

Kobe Glover left LSH 2 years ago..Wanted more playing time, among other things, and Perry was a better fit. Perry didn't chase him, he went there..

LIMA SENIOR -Quincey. That is all that needs to be said. It will be many years until Lima Senior falters again. Add in Perry and LCC doesn't have a chance right now!
