Here are the all time head to head records between Ottawa Glandorf and their WBL counterparts. Ottawa, St. Peter and Paul Schools and Glandorf consolidated in 1965, so that is when these records date back to. The titans joined the WBL in 1967-68 school year. Before joining the WBL OG competed in the PCL but Shawnee, Bath, Defiance, Elida and Wapak were on the schedule which explains a larger numbers of games played between the schools.

The records are listed in order of winning percentage (the overall records include tournament games.

Bath- 45-9 .833 OG is 3-0 versus Bath in tournament games, Bath's last win Vs. OG was in 1991

Kenton- 39-8 .829 The 2 teams have only met once in tournament with OG getting the win

Wapak 38-15 .717 2-0 in tournament for the titans

St. Marys 34-18 .654 OG 4-1 all time versus SM in the tourn.

Van Wert 33-20 .623 OG 3-1 in tournament versus VW

Defiance 31-19 .620 OG 1-0 aginst Defiance in tournament (2003 districts)

Elida 30-22 .577 Bulldogs are 0-3 in tournament games against the Titans

Shawnee 27-22 .551 Teams have met up 6 times in tournament, with OG winning 4

Celina 22-26 .458 OG defeated Celina in 2003 sectionals, the only tourney meeting b/w the 2 schools. Celina is the only current member in the WBL with a winning record vs. the titans.

Delphos St. John's was in the WBL from 1971-1982 and were on OG's schedule from 1968-81. The all time series was dominated by the Blue Jays 14-2 (ouch!) with DSJ taking both tournament matchups.

Another school that was in the WBL until 1973 was Coldwater, for the 6 years OG and Coldwater were in the WBL the Cavs led the series 5-1. Coldwater re-appeared on the schedule from 1984-1996 with OG leading the series 9-4. Overall the two schools have met up 4 times in tournament, splitting the 4 games 2-2.

Yeah, I am snowed in.

Wow! Really only 2-14 against DSJ? I know one of the OG wins was the 82 game at Delphos, when was the other win? Blue Jays won so many of the games and I'm sure at least five or six of them were at Delphos I wish we had a bigger gym so we could have given OG more tickets so there would be more of their fans go home broken hearted :-)

Yes, some very good Wayne Trace teams beat some mediocre to bad OG teams in the early to mid 90's in some very close, hard fought games at the district level.

I remember back in the early-mid 2000s I was surprised that O-G didn't lead Defiance by more than 10 games or so in the series, despite winning most of the games from the early/mid 90s until the mid 2000s. The Bulldogs must have had a winning record in the early years. Both programs were pretty good in the 70s and 80s.

Hap Lauer did have at least one of those games. It was at Elida. I believe it was when Steve Hall was a Senior, and I think OG won. I don't remember the year, but I do remember him throwing up a roadblock at half court when the one of the teams came on the floor ( the other team was already on the floor ) to keep that team from circling the floor. The crowd had been in a frenzy since the doors opened.

OG was in the PCL from 1965-1967, from 1968- 1974 OG won a total of 30 games, 11 in the WB L until Ron Niekamp showed up and began to build the program.

1965-1969 OG won all 5
1970's Defiance won 9/ 10
1980's OG won 8/10
1990's OG won 6/10
2000 - the present OG has won 11/15

Hap--now that was a good one. I could tell you some stories.

MF--I don't remember the 5 in a row being that hard fought but I will take a 6 and 3 record vs a school almost twice the size of another school.

I'm also surprised OG has such a big advantage over Kenton. I've been trying to think of the big 6'8 guy Kenton use to have back in the late 70's I think it was. Anybody know who I'm talking about? Also surprised their series with Shawnee is that close, thought OG would have bigger lead in that series.

Overall the series with Wayne Trace is 5-2 in favor of WT (all tournament games), too bad nothing could be put together during the regular season in the past or present between two of the more successful programs in NW Ohio. Would be a good game almost every year.

.....and if you are talking about the early 90's it was 4 in a row: 1990 WT 61 OG 56
1991 WT 58 OG 51
1992 WT 55 OG 51
1993 WT 45 OG 44.............I was in attendance for all 4 games, though not vintage OG teams, and looking at the scores, I would call them hard fought.

Always forget about Wayne Trace when the subject of OG's scheduling comes up. Wayne Trace would be a great matchup for OG in the regular season. Not a bad drive, nice gym, good crowds. Not sure why OG wouldn't have gotten them on the schedule sometime over the past 5 or 6 years when the long distance schools (Fremont Ross, Olmstead Falls, etc) started dropping off the schedule. No offense, but a yearly game with Wayne Trace would be a better "consistent" matchup than 5 or 6 of the teams the Titans have on their schedule now.

Besides the 1972-73 and 1973-74 seasons, OG has played LCC 64 times during the regular season and tournament. The T-Birds are the titans most common opponent. The overall record is 33-31 in favor of OG.

The all time reg. season head to head is in LCC's favor 25-23, with OG holding the edge in tournament games 10-6.

Another on again, off again rivalry the titans have had is with Lima Sr. the 2 teams played in the late 60's until the mid 70's, resumed the series from 1983-1990, and presently play each other dating back to 2006. The two schools missed out on some potentially great matchups during the 1991- 2005 window.

Lima Sr. won the first 11 meetings between the 2 schools and currently lead the series 15-9, with OG winning 6 of the past 8.

Wayne Trace needs a team like OG on their schedule. Back in the day they were tested with a competitive schedule before the tournament, not the case now.
