Pandora Gilboa school district does seem to lose a good amount of kids to the other schools they border over that way.

Maybe you should spend some time actually collecting some knowledge about the issues of open enrollment instead of shooting off your opinions. Here is a good place to start.

That was taken 4 years ago.......anything more current....also, if these schools are losing kids through open enrollment then I think it is fair to say that those kids they are losing are giving many public schools a positive percentage.....I mean, as much as you may not like this opinion, I am pretty certain that those kids that left public schools did not all enroll in a private school.......sorry for shooting off another opinion!!!!!!!!

A few observations are in order after last night's loss to a 11-7 Napoleon outfit....and after Grove getting beat by
Continental last evening.....

Last year all the talk on the RC was about the undefeated JV team and how they would impact this year's edition...
well, it ain't working out too good right now...AND this year's team is also undefeated....BUT, like in years past
the OG JV team is loaded up with juniors playing a major part in their success....I don't see this happening at
many other schools any more but it has seemed to work in their favor in the past....

OG is now 11-6 and I don't think many of their fans were thinking this going into the season.....close wins vs.
Kalida and Bluffton, coupled with a blowout loss to CG.....don't know their remaining schedule but could see another
1 or 2 more.....would that be enough to garner a #1 seed in the weak NW district they've been placed?....many of
our members are from the OG fold and are die-hards, but I have to think that sooner or later they will come to the
same conclusions......can they get to the regionals?...most definitely a yes..(but only because of the lack of any
teams in that district worth a darn).....put them in with LCC, St. Henry, Liberty Benton, and the like and I think
it would be an early exit.....

Maybe the ol' RM will eat his words.....that's for another day I guess.....but right now, the state of basketball
in Ottawa has got to be worrying more than a few .........

Wow RM, 2 years removed from a state championship and 1 year from a regional final and the state of OG basketball is in turmoil! The Titans have always played a tough schedule and get every teams best effort every night. Hence the close wins and tough losses vs team the Titans should win easily. Remember back in the day when OG would go unbeaten, or 1 -2 losses, in regular season and make an early tournament lose? I'm sure most fans would take the deep tourney run over the season accolades. OG plays for the post season. A loss here or there does not warrant too much concern at this point. Doesn't matter if the district is the best or not...a solid tournament run is what is remembered. Case in point; last years 10 loss team made a great run beating some very good teams along the way to regional finals..TyMac knows what he is doing......to sum it up.....OG will be there in the end...again!!

I am of the opinion we have a an issue rearing it's ugly head..... this group should make regionals due to going north in D3. Although, an upset in districts won't shock me.
As for the future, people need to wake up. #31 is keeping them afloat this year.....after that, all bets are off and imo, .500 seasons are going to be the norm. Not much in the pipeline at this point.....

As long as Bath, Shawnee and Kenton are in the WBL....And Grove, Leipsic, Kalida, Bluffton and Fort Jennings are on the schedule I think that .500 is very reachable every year....

Fort Jennings is not on OG's schedule, haven't been in over 20 years.

OG plays a pretty good schedule, they are Division III and every team in their conference is a higher division except one 1 I believe, yet they compete at a high success rate each year and no one, even this year since some say we're struggling so much, would make the mistake to look past them. They pick up many other good teams such as Lima Senior, Napoleon (whose losses come to very good opponents) Perrysburg to name a few. They also play a few county teams, which everyone seems to enjoy, but OG might as well drop them cause if they win no one cares and if they lose it's a huge topic of discussion. They play 3 or 4 games to a lower division and almost every other team is a higher division, in conference and out of conference, it seems to be working for us, it's all about the tourney.

The Blue Jays are 11-6 with wins over Crestview and Spencerville. Not sure I'd call this a "bad" year.
